So the vehicle has been in people hands for quite some time now. Has anybody pulled off a v8 swap? Or is it impossible?

Definitely possible from the physical side but integrating with all the electronics will be a task, though not impossible. I'm a little surprised an LS-swap hack job hasn't showed up by now.

I am the first to admit I am not the most mechanically inclined but I do know that modern engine swaps in modern cars are a royal pain in the ass. Getting everything to work the way it is supposed is a major hurdle

How about a Cyclone Swap? Is that feasible?

I'm curious where they're gonna put it. Engine bay is already tight with the V6 option.

It’ll fit, but it would just be an engine and the body. Without the engine interfacing with the body nothing will work. No gauges no ignition no windows nothing. Several have discussed it, but all have said until Ford opens up the software its kind of a silly swap. Meanwhile there is the Bronco R for $250,000 off road only.

That sounds about perfect, except for the windows. Toss in a manual transfer case and a push button starter and call her good enough.

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone tries to convert a Bronco to full electric. They have kits right now to convert classics to ev.

May as well get a gen1 at that point. It would be cooler. G6 only works if the tech works too

It's doable. I've seen and helped with modern V8s swapped into much smaller engine bays than the Bronco. Interfacing all the electronics is doable. Plenty of standalone aftermarket systems and programming options to keep most, if not all, electronic systems.

Hell, there's a bolt in kit now for a LSx swap into the FRS / BRZ platform and plenty of V8 Miata's running around.

Honestly, I'd say that the Bronco platform has an advantage from mixing /matching - most everything could be adapted from the existing F150 platform, especially from the electronics / computer side. I'd wager that a 3.5 EB would be the best option - even over the Coyote. The 10R60 would have to be beefed or likely swapped to the 10R80.
