Wanting to change mine synonyms. How bad is it to get to? Do you have to drop any under body armor? I’ve got a Black Diamond Sasquatch.

I believe the 2nd bash plate from the front is what you need to remove.
The oil pan (more of a box) is above that.

Pliars or channel locks may be required to remove the drain plug.
Use gentle pressure to remove and gently pressure to lightly tighten the oil drain plug.

The oil filter is up top in the engine compartment. A large socket or an adjustable wrench may be required to gently remove and gently re-tighten the cover/canister to the oil filter.

That is an appropriate question. I answered thinking everyone with BD SAS had a 2.7 like ours.

I've changed mine twice now. 2.7, gotta remove the 2nd bash plate to get to the oil pan (2 bolts removed, 2 bolts loosened for plate). The filter is up top and the easiest way to remove is with an appropriate socket because its plastic and mars easily if an adjustable wrench is used.

I know the entire debate about 6 vs 7 quarts is strong on this forum, for my experiences I've drained 6 quarts and replaced with 6 each time. Thats after draining for 30 minutes, removing the filter so take it for what its worth.

Overall pretty easy process, best of luck.

Really easy on a 2.7, I've heard the filter on the 2.3 is harder to get to.

Watch out for the plastic yellow oil plug. It will gush all over your front passenger tire if you pull it out quickly. Planning to swap mine out next time with something that allows for more controlled flow.

My favorite part was I didn't even need a jack, plenty of room to get under there with a creeper while tires are on the ground.
