Has anyone spoken to a Ford salesman that actually knew as much as you do?

Throw rocks if you will. But if I'm a sales manager and one of my guys/gals knows as much as we do, they're fired. Now. Why? Because it means they've spent as much time on here as we have instead of selling cars and calling prospects! There's no way they have the time or maybe even inclination to follow our hobby while they're working to sell what they have to sell. Which ain't the Bronco yet.

Since the start of this journey, I have been to about 5 dealerships hunting down one thing or another. It amazes me how little salesmen know about the Bronco. It feels like the average salesman is five steps behind. Is it lack of briefing from corporate? Or is it my involvement on the forum that puts me five steps ahead? I am not sure.

Today's experience tipped the scales - I was seeking out carb gray on the explorer. Spoke to a salesman for a five minutes about when he thinks Bronco Sports will be coming to the lot so I could see Area 51. He spent three minutes trying to convince me that the color Area 51 is not a Ford color, and I was mistaken. Like with conviction - the color Area 51 does not exist, nor will exist on future models. Then when asked if he had the color binder, he also claimed no such thing exists. Not that his dealer didnt get them, but the book itself simply were never a thing....I have many other examples from other dealers, but this one was pretty eye popping.

Here I am, mapping out when each Bronco color will be coming out in conjunction with each model's estimated delivery date....and a salesman doesnt even know the #1 popular color for the Bronco even exists? It's such a crazy disconnect.

The reason this is somewhat concerning is that during the unknowns of the ordering process and dealer allocations, I find it hard to believe that when we are in need of answers, we'll get clarity from dealers. Luckily, my dealer is very knowledgeable, and I feel that I'm in good hands...but of the other 5 dealerships I went to, the lack of knowledge was incredible. That's 5 out of 6. I could see this becoming a little problematic, big picture...
If you already have a good dealer, why are you beating yourself up so bad with the one's that are still in the dark?

Just spoke with my salesman. He told me when the order banks open I'll get notified by Ford via e-mail. Everything else he said made no sense, except that I'll be coming in to see him and make my changes (Black Diamond to Badlands, etc). I suspect if he gets new intel he'll get with me. Pretty sure I was the first reservation in my neck of the woods. Sounds like we have until January to get this done and still keep our place in line, so I'll try to be patient ?

I am in sales in Van Wert Ohio, along with being the dealer Bronco Specialist.. I can say we do have the color swatches that are really really close to the actual color you will see in person. (Color swatches also smell of fresh paint lol)Most of my info on photos and small details has come from this forum.

There are a few things that Ford has released before the forum. Although as of right now, I would like to say the forum is up to date with everything we know. I am happy to try and help (if I can) on any related questions. Most of you will know more than if not the same info as me lol.

If you do go to a dealer for questions. Ask for their Bronco specialist.

It's but a drop in the bucket of why despite having decent, maybe even great, products, the stock sits at 6 bucks.

An organizational disconnect.

Not to be confused with your swaybar disconnect on your Badlands.
Ooh no, we are at $8.75 now. That's 875 pennies PER SHARE!

I called a local dealer and he was know it all that knew absolutely nothing. He made sure i knew that he had been the sales manager for over 20 years and told me either i was lying or the dealer was lying if they offered under invoice. He even started yelling back and forth with the owner to verify how right he was. I offered him this forum for knowledge and the website for two dealers offering below invoice. He made it super clear he didnt need to look at anything. He didnt even know there was an msrp on the ford website build and price. He just said all anyone knows is what is offered on the pamphlets that ford sent them. It blew my mind.
Antarctic Blue sports wagon? I thought you order Metallic Pea family truckster?

I'm good with my guy. The post was more for the group / Bronco reservation holders.

Why is educating yourself on the products you sell a bad thing? So if potential buyer has questions, you would rather misinformation be spewed? Ultimately, this attitude is what's killing the dealer model and you'll eventually be reduced to a service-only center.

The salesmen you're talking to work for the dealership, not Ford. And most of them will be focused on products they can move TODAY, not next year some time maybe...
The realest words written in this thread!

Is my dealer (Bronco Specialist) correct when he says that we will receive email notification from Ford when it's time to convert our reservations to orders?

It's a lack of passion for the job besides the initiative of "sell hunks of bits of metal for x amount of dollars."
What they don't understand is that selling whatever car to whatever people is one thing, selling a "lifestyle" or "enthusiasts" vehicle like the bronco is completely different.
Most buyers are more informed and passionate about their vehicles. They definitely don't fall into the oh that cars pretty, gimme category of buyers.

That said, it makes 0 sense from a customer service perspective to use the same half assed approach of "hey a car is a car and you need a car" mentality.

Sadly, once these are available on dealer lots it will be irrelevant. At that point the "ooh this car is pretty" crowd will be knee deep in bronco
