Ok, so in over my head here and need someone to school me. I've been looking into installing the Hellwig rear sway bar on my 23 non-SAS OBX. I have an approx 2" lift installed (Bilstein 6112) with 35s. I've been speaking with the Hellwig engineer and we did determine that I have both the frame brackets and axle tube brackets for installation. However, the question came up on my lift vs the OEM SAS lift height (as that's what he's seen the Hellwig bar successfully installed on). My lift is a bit higher (approx .6 - .8") does that even matter OR will I need to get a longer link to attach the sway bar ends to the existing frame brackets? He was not sure and is checking on his end. I'm thinking the bar would just pivot into place, but I have no idea if that's right or not?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. TIA!

This is really old but I'm researching here for some info. I have a lot of experience on cars but not much on 4x4s. Normally the height variance is managed with either proper length end links or adjustable end links. Basically you want the bar to be parallel to the ground. Not everyone agrees with this just like anything automotive. But it has worked for me over the years.

Thank you, I did end up installing using the standard Hellwig end links. Will double check positioning later today, but, (IIRC), itā€™s pretty close to being parallel to ground. Having said that, undecided if Iā€™d recommend it or not as Iā€˜m not feeling much improvement in stability with it. Itā€™s quite different than the OEM sway bar, as (pretty sure) OEM goes over the rear diff and this one does not.

I installed the Hellwig sway bar on my 2018 Raptor and it made a noticeable difference in eliminating rear sway, however completely different rear suspension set up (leaf springs) vs Broncoā€¦

I'm guessing it had the same 3 hole adjustments. Which did you use? The run something like 125%, 170ish% and 225% stiffness. The 2 Dr isn't really far off of where I'd like it to be. So the stock bar may be enough. Thanks for the feedback

Currently using the middle hole (same one I used on the Raptor), good point though, might try changing holes to see if much differenceā€¦
