Welp, this is entirely my fault. I left two of the bolts for the roof rack sitting on the roof and drove away. Surprisingly one of them made it all the way from my home to a friends house and back. The other fell off.

I've looked in the service manual and it doesn't cover the accessories, so looking at the installation for the roof rack it just shows a picture of the bolts as part H, no part number or details on size.

Anyone know a ford part number to replace it, or at least details on what size I would need to get as a replacement?

Here's the only part in the install manual it shows it, part H:

Hi. Did you ever find a replacement? I misplaced one myself.

Diamond head?
This is one of the standard “bronco” bolts. Torx with bronco label on it.

thanks again for our help. I'm going to attach a couple of pictures showing the bolt. hoping this helps if you are using the same type. again this bolt is located in the rear bracket to secure the clamp to the roof.

Oh THAT bolt. Yeah that's a different bolt than I was talking about. That's that weird triangle one..

Maybe @flip can identity the part number?

Can't find that bolt but the tool to remove those is M2DZ-7855100-A. I hate to say it but that bolt may only come with the rack kit. That's not gospel, just can't find it in any of my catalogue sections.

I'll state my feelings again on this.....Who in the hell thought it would be a good idea to use a bastard drive bolt that requires a special torque tool to install and remove? I'm assuming they farmed this out to another supplier but for a company trying to pinch pennies, this doesn't make sense. Not to mention you lose the bolt, at least for the time being, you're hosed.

I fully agree.

Volvo also has the same exact tool, so I wonder which subcontractor makes them, thule? yakima?

However, a 6 point socket can also work on it.
But finding a replacement bolt... hmmm

thanks this is helpful. it's absolutely outrageous they don't source this part separately. I called a couple dealers and they both said the only option was to purchase the rack - go figure....
