Here's Additional Sound Deadening Material in the Engine Bay (of 2021 Bronco High Package) 🔊

While it shouldn't be put out mis-spelled, I know I've found myself typing Wildtrack from time to time because I'm so used to spelling "track", not "trak". But I catch myself when doing it and correct it.

It's an easy mistake, but we're not being paid by Ford to market the Bronco. Really sad that BN make these kinds of basic errors.

Additional sound deadening is a feature of the high package on Bronco and available in the Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrack, and comes standard on First Edition. Some of you have asked about details of the feature and what it actually is. Ford has confirmed to Bronco Nation that the additional sound deadening material is located in the engine bay and is designed to absorb engine noise.

So there's extra insulation / sound deadening material in form of battery cover , firewall insulation, and a hood liner.

Sound deadening and the stereo upgrade are the main reasons I'm considering Lux/OBX vs Base. This doesn't seem like a lot of sound deadening though. I wonder if there's more in other parts.

I'd venture to say there's probably more that is more hidden, and that these were just the easily visible parts.

First I've ever heard of a battery cover for noise insulation....strange.

Acoustically, it may be a convenient flat surface for placing additional sound absorbing material. I saw the covered battery yesterday on an OBX

Im not sure of anything, im new to the engine bay sound insulation thread. But the battery covering fabric I saw yesterday is not a cold weather temperature blanket like we had in uostate NY. Too thin. Also, it appeard that these are AGM batteries like in my F150, which are less susceptible to freezing and going dead and last longer. I tried to p

peel up the cover to see what kind of battery it was and I couldn't move it out of the way it wasn't flexible

The Bronco batteries use special high frequency generating tuning forks, they are really loud, so you have to insulate them.
