Holman Ford and shifting the 7mt

Had heart set on the Base with manual tranny. I’ve owned numerous cars and trucks, some with long throws heavy clutch, etc.
I was at Holman for over three hours, it was such a nice day, people were great not more than eight at a time...

Well the 7 speed is not for me.
The clutch was firm not too bad, shifting throws a bit longer than expected and not clunky at all but not super smooth either.
Sat there shifting and working the clutch for 10 minutes and decided it would be tiring on a long trip. Went inside and my sales manager changed the order to auto v6!
Sorry MT fans, I chickened out at the last minute!

As I said, it's not for everyone, and that's OK. Some are comfortable with the choice of getting the auto, and some need an excuse to get the auto. Same, same really. Us MT folks are clearly the minority.

The clutch was engineered for hiking boots, not Italian lambskin driving shoes.

Thanks for the video. I’ve been curious as to how Ford handled the the pedal spacing on the manual. The automatic has a fat brake pedal. The manual looks slimmer.

Your thoughts on it are the polar opposite of mine. I was surprised by how light the clutch was and how short the transmission throws were. Honestly I’m not sure what you were expecting, but it more than met my expectations. PS...I wouldn’t go off-roading in those shoes, no matter what transmission you select.
