Yesterday I went to my dealer to take a look at my Bronco before they did the PDI. I took the opportunity to go for a little test drive of about 22 km. I was thoroughly impressed but while I was driving it I noticed a dent in the hood. It is on the passenger's side about halfway between the front edge of the hood and the front edge of the "bump". I pointed this out to my salesman and he is going to get a paintless dent person to look at it. Hopefully they can fix it but if thye can't I am going to insist that they replace the hood. I am not posting this to bitch about Ford, just pointing out things to look out for after the initial amazement wears off.

Good tip for those awaiting. In the excitement of recieving the Bronco its easy to overlook things.

Here's another bronco with a dent in what appears to be the same area.

I thought I've seen another one too. Same spot.

Hmm... that's in the exact same spot. @Ford Motor Company I wonder if the carriage that moves the hoods around is out of adjustment and pressing down too hard.

It's definitely a factory thing because ours has one also. I noticed it when we picked it up but it's really hard to see. I pointed it out to the salesman just so he's aware of it. When I bring it for the first oil change I'll ask about a paintless dent removal. There are some days when I'm trying to see it and I can't even find it. The dent on the above link is much worse than we have.

I picked up my Bronco from the dealer yesterday. The paintless dent lady believes that it was caused by an excessive amount of panel bond that is pulling part of the hood down to the cross brace where it shouldn't be. She removed some of the glue and did a good job at fixing it. It looks like it is completely gone from outside but from behind the wheel I swear I can still see it ever so slightly, that may be an optical illusion or paranoia but I absolutely HATE hood dents, so there's that.

If anyone else has had the same issue, what was your resolution?

@Ford Motor Company Maybe the robot that shoots the goo is out of calibration?

I have the same dent. It appears to be a known problem but as usual you have to bring the dealer up to speed :/ Having dent repair person fix it next week.

I actually have the dent on both sides. Driver and Passenger.

They were not visible when i took delivery last week - I only started to notice them once the outside temperature dropped. Now they are very obvious.

Dealer just asked for photos to send to Ford... not sure where that goes.

Yeah, this is way too common not to be a production issue.

The hood is incredibly thin and dents very easy. I had some acorns do a number on mine. I had a paintless dent remover take care of it.

GREAT job using the reflection to point out the issues, those pics are indisputable.
Ford better get that fixed.
