Anyone else considering getting a can of HPR for some of the Interior trim? I'm considering it for all the blue accents in the Roast interior if it's impossible to get the Raptor Code Orange bits.
I'm thinking about it, but more for the exterior, like shackles and maybe Bronco lettering in the grill. I'm getting the Black/orange MGV interior in the Badlands though.

Where do you get a can of this? The Dealer?

If I missed it, is the paint code for HPR EA ?

If that is the actual code, you can get aerosol cans of it from here.

Specialist Paints.

It's probably the more expensive alternative at $22 a can, but it's a possible choice.

You can also get clear coats to spray on it, from this same place.

I'm pretty sure the HPR is a two stage paint with a base and a Tinted clear so probably need both cans.

Yes, HPR is a "tri-coat" which requires a specific color of primer, paint coat and tinted clear to achieve it's final finish. Variance in any of the 3 stages will produce a very different color.

The best example of this on a production car that we have currently is Soul Red Crystal from Mazda. Unfortunately Ford continues to use an overall low-quality tri-coat that lacks the depth and luster compared to the offerings from other manufacturers

While i'm certainly not a de-facto source for such things, I did make a post showing a few pics of the Soul Red Crystal. It's when paints such as this exist that the Rapid Red or HPR just don't do enough while still having all the horrendous repair/re-spray costs of a better tri-coat that keeps Ford from getting my $$$ on their tri-coats.

Thanks for the clarification on the primer as well. Yes every time I see that color on a Mazda on the road it catches my eye for sure. I guess the tri-coat explains the up-charge for the HPR color also. Isn't cyber orange a tri-coat also?

Yes, Ford identifies their tri-coats usually through the additional cost and also on the B&P.

BTW: Mazda had to stir in some special sauce to get their red to look the way it did. Great article about it below:

https://insidemazda.mazdausa.com/th... was, exceptional depth and reflective quality.

To give an idea how much a proper Tri-Coat costs to repair such as re-painting a bumper, this is the tint used in the clear-coat for Soul Red Crystal. Just the tint.... And just enough for spraying a bumper then blending.

MSRP: $1,207 (Yes, Glasurit is the expensive line, but you can find their previous line available at a 20% discount.... Only $835 if you go here: https://everestautomotivemarket.com...herry-red-180ml/?vendor_id=121&company_id=121)

Fully aware that HPR it a tri-coat.

I only asked and listed what I did because, more often than not, when places like I linked list the color it is a straight up metallic (non-tri stage) that's been tinted to be 'close enough' for trim or accent pieces.

Sometimes, that's all that people want.

OK I found this place that offers the whole "tri-coat kit" if anyone is interested in that also

This is my dilemma. I was all for VB but then I saw this HPR ā€¦..and EG looks good too! Canā€™t decide.
I changed my mind on this over the weekend. There was a dealership nearby that had a vb bronco. I love blue on vehicles. Was not impressed with it on the bronco. If it was a little darker, or if we could get lightning blue, I would be happy. I am officially in the hpr club, as dealer changed my order today.

Going from VB to HPR 2dr BD. Was thinking with the retro stripe kit but not sure how it would look.
I saw a HPR with the flat black retro stripe somewhere around here. Looked really good IMO.

Has anyone received a build date yet for their HPR? Can't wait to see some more pics of these on the bronco!

I wish I could say I had the paint specially formulated and mixed to match the body color. But I ainā€™t gonna lieā€¦.. I bought that shit at Walmart. $5 a can.šŸ˜. If it doesnā€™t hold up, Iā€™m out a few hours of labor and $15.

did you find this paint to be close to a perfect match?
