How are you mounting your recovery boards

I just ordered the TrailRax 4 door roof rack with the sidepax. Intended to mount my Maxtrax on the side but was told the Maxtrax are too long so either need to block part of the back door or extend past the back. Curious what others are doing. Thanks!

I don’t think it’s stated, but those boards were cut to fit as well. They are 44”L+/- and the Bronco is 42”W+/-

Oddly the ARB boards made for Ford Performance state they are 41”L but they’ve never been “in stock” to my knowledge. I did see a set in the back of the Bronco I used in Off Rodeo and they were definitely slightly smaller because they fit.

Ooh I love TrailRax. Couldn't you just get some tie downs on the rack?

Thanks but I don't want to put dirty traction boards inside the Bronco. Plus I want to maximize storage space inside. Appreciate the suggestion though.

Yes, but I want something secure and be able to lock down. I'm thinking about the Expedition Essentials mount. Only issue is its super expensive and also since the boards will extend either past the rear door or past the back it may not be the ideal solution. TrailRax has a solution for their rack on the way but not till sometime later this year.

Yeah I won't be chopping up my Maxtrax... Plus don't want them inside. I need to maximize my storage inside which is the reason for buying a rack with side storage.

You can get one of these guys from Badass Tents.

It's basically a mounting plate held to the spare tire with a ratchet strap.

I didn’t do any cutting on those ARB boards. They’re ARB Tred GT which are slightly shorter than ARB Tred Pro and the Maxtrax boards, and they fit perfectly.

Thank you for the clarification. Wish I had known that before I bought the pros. The portion I cut is the “shovel” end and doesn’t really effect its end use. I reshaped it to have the same basic shape but more blunt.
