How can the 2-door be a limiting factor for MY21?

Sales exceeding forecast. Betting that they predicted 2-Dr sales to be 5%-10% of Bronco sales. Betting the orders are showing more than 25%. Tough to execute when your numbers are that far apart.

I think @ZackDanger got it right:
2-door only comes with a hard top... 4-door can be optioned with the soft top.... so any delay in hard tops delays only some 4-doors but every single 2-door

That's why we're only seeing leaks from the factory right now of vehicles with soft tops and vehicles with no tops.... no hard tops available right now.

Could be why all the fitting of the Fastback soft tops we are seeing. Ford might decide to offer the 2DR with a soft top to speed deliverys.

Not sure where you got that impression. Not sure exact dimensions on the front, but the rear clamshell is absolutely different.

I bet there is also a problem with the delay with the hard tops. They are being produced by Webasto and their plant they were building got heavily delayed when COVID jammed everything up.

In a separate group that I frequent, the day after the Q/A release, the one buyer was optioning their build with a MIC top and the dealer indicated that it would delay their build. That was the first instance that corroborated the generic Hard Top delay. IMO, the delay was never about the 2-dr chassis, but rather the fact that it only comes with a HT as you mentioned above.

At this point there is still 4 months before Job1 so let's just hope the HT issues are resolved by then. And if not, perhaps the fastback top that has recently been shown be offered in lieu of the HT. Anyway, I would recommend reading through the Market Manager Q/A thread.
