In our part of the world we have lots of wand wash bays. Because of the road salt in the winter it’s important to regularly get all the brine and crud off the underside of the vehicle. I usually just crouch down and use the wand underneath. <insert witty Interweb comment here> You can do the same with any portable pressure washer and the regular wand. Easy peasy.

It's usually the first thing I hit with the pressure washer. I just get on the ground and go to town while it's still dry.

well to answer this question im fortunate enough where i work i can pull my vehicles in the garage and use my pressure washer to clean the undercarriage and get all the salt and everything else off.. recently i came across a company that makes awesome products.. one is a salt-brine eliminator this stuff gets in all the cracks and crevaces to remove all salt from the vehicle they also sell an oil undercoating that will protect the undercarriage from rust...awesome products money well spent to keep my vehicles looking good... the website is nhoilundercoating.com a lil pricey but well worth it .. use that and ceramic coat your paint and your good as gold.

From unfortunate experience as a teenager, I know not to take a soft top convertible through a car wash. I'm assuming that hasn't changed in 20 years, has it? I never owned a convertible before.

If my Jeep didn't have a soft top and a 4 foot CB antenna I'd go through the "touchless" car wash that includes a undercarriage rinse for the winter road salt. But since I can't go through those I use the coin op pay and spray booths and just do my best with the wand. A shitty wash is still better than nothing.

After wheeling I need to get a little more thorough to get the caked on mud off. I'll drag out the ramps I used on my previous cars to do oil changes and back up on them and lay down and just blast away with the hose. Feel confident I got as much as I can, switch the jeep around and work on the rest. It makes an absolute mess but I can really deep clean that way.
