So we keep getting all sorts of different MPG estimates. However they are from different trims (armored vs unarmored , squatch vs normal tires)

However has anybody done testing to see how effective eco mode is compared to say "normal" mode?

I've used it a few times in my Explorer..seems kinda useless unless you're in stop and go traffic or slowing-moving city traffic. Even then, questionable if it really does much. Engine seems a bit quieter in Eco mode, and I don't mean the piped-in sound.

I played with the ECO mode in the dealer demo. The best way to describe the mode is it’s..driving miss daisy mode. I feel it’s def in town use only. I had it in ECO on the Highway. Def geared to stay in the lower gears in my opinion. I will use it on the daily driving back and forth to work. I live 5 minutes from my job plus other driving in town.
Otherwise you are hitting the interstate I’d keep it on normal mode. The us Sport when you need to scoot.
One thing about ECO you are trying to get out of somewhere fast..it’s does really have fast. I’d use Sport.
Now MPGs I’ll have to update when I get a bronco if my own!

this is what I drove. The 2.3 OB.

Eco mode won't make it more aerodynamic or weigh less.

Brisk acceleration is fine for good MPG. Eco mode just makes it more annoying to drive.

Eco is nice in our Bronco Sport because it makes the pedal less sensitive. You can easily modulate the throttle to ”gently” accelerate. It doesn’t noticeably adjust anything else I noticed. The 8 speed already tries to upshift as much as it can.

@618TRVLWILD have you heard if yours actually has a bad roof, or is it just waiting to be checked?
I’ve not officially heard. It’s just what my gut is telling me. I’ve tried to find out and had no luck.

In Ashley's Babes group, there was a Sport owner who had used Eco for about a month and then only used Normal for the next month. She found that she got less mpg in Eco than Normal. She was averaging 31 with Normal mode and was only getting 24 in Eco. I was shocked, but she verified that she didn't erroneously flip the numbers/modes.
