Between 5 and 6....basically rocks and hills where I don't THINK my bash plates will hit. But if they do I'll grin and bear it 🍺

Did some level 5 and 6 trails back in the day with my '86 Toyota pickup. Could have gone more extreme, but was usually alone, so didn't want to chance getting stuck miles from pavement. But I have to say, that little Toyota with 31" tires and open differentials was a very capable off roader.

I'm going to get to #9. Might try 10 when my skills and intestinal fortitude get there.

I take my Cherokee (lifted 3" on 32" tires) on 6-7 rated trails. It does fine. Any reasonably optioned Bronco off the showroom floor should be able to do the same.

I'm working on building up an old Jeep Comanche pickup. It's my "Nigel Tufnel" build. This one goes to eleven.

I'd be comfortable up to 6 on those photos. I do want to do the Cliff Hanger trails sometime, but that one spot in the photo at #8 is making me sweat just watching videos, LOL. Probably not even that hard, just go slow, but you're pretty much looking straight down to the bottom from the driver's seat, yikes!
Hopefully I'll get mine not too late in the year so I can play a bit in the dirt.

Yeah, so, I'm thinking level 10+ but probably aiming for Level 1-. :ROFLMAO: give or take a level.

You gotta start somewhere! After conquering Level 1, then Level 2 seems attainable. Then Level 3, etc., until finally you get to, "That's it, I'm out!" 😄

The problems I have with that Level 8 photo:

Am I financially responsible for this vehicle and damage to it?

Exactly how steep and deep is that drop-off over there?
 o_O :)

Besides numbers this should have a list of what trails fall under each number.

Rubicon trail
Miller Jeep trail
John bull trail
Mojave Road

The Rubicon is a 5-7, without big sluice, a close 8 with, and I never had the nerve to do it as I have seen many rigs come out with trail damage. As I need this as a tow vehicle I will limit myself to 6 unless I have no other choice.

I always assumed the Rubicon looked like mostly 8 and sometimes 9. It's spoken of like it's the Holy Grail of off-roading. :) I guess it makes sense that the namesake Jeep should be able to complete it without any modifications. That would mean Badlands should just as well, since that's the target Jeep model for it.
