On the way to pick up the Bronco I will drive east 31 miles to STL Airport to fly to Granger IA. Then drive home 321 miles at least back home...may make some stops that day.
Flight from Chicago to Des Moines, then a 326 mile (if a straight shot on I80) drive back with my wife. We are going to see the beautiful area of N and NE Iowa on the return trip through Clear Lake, Decorah and down through Dubuque. Then hit up Galena in NW Illinois for a nice scenic drive back through small town America. Sounds like a nice little long weekend breaking in the new ride. Scenic route will be 483 miles.
Well I was going to start a new thread to ask my question below but this seems a good place...
As of right now: 2,492 miles.
I have a reservation with an Oregon dealer but am planning to move to Indianapolis in 6-8 months, post order / pre-delivery. Right now I am debating shifting to an Indy dealer for my order just to avoid putting 2500 miles on the truck off the lot. But on the other hand a cross country drive is an adventure, especially if there's some detours along the way.
If anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them.
1290 miles to Grainger Ford. 22 hours to save $2200. I'll take the opportunity to see some College buddies and hit some mountain trails on the way down to South Florida. Initiation before hitting the flatlands down here.
I work with a lot of stores for a living. My favorite Ford store is right at 1500 miles away. That's where I am going. Plus I'll add a couple miles on the way back to go through Moab.
