Probably until a hybrid version comes out, if it has similar power and capabilities.
If the hybrid or EV version can't keep up with my 2.7 BL, then I'll be keeping it until something better comes out. :)
Iā€™d wager that a PHEV version will out perform the ICE version. Electric motors are great at low end torque

Still waiting on the Wildtrack but I've had the 73 for the last 30 years. I'll have them both until the end days!

We are all buying, basically, a first year vehicle... with problems and growing pains. Knowing that, I'll likely keep it 4 years or 150,000 miles, which ever comes first. Hopefully, in that 4 years, Ford's Solid State battery tech is in their vehicles... and if so, that's what I'll replace it with: A solid state EV Ford Bronco.
They are close....
Solid State batteries are safer, lighter, and recharge super fast. But, are still in development.
The Hummer weighs 9,000 pounds as a traditional EV. That's just too heavy for an offroad vehicle and it will likely kill anyone it collides with on the highways.... Let's hope a Hummer never catches fire in traffic.... We need better battery safety and Ford's Solid State will likely be the answer.
Iā€™m with you.

Yes, I saw that. Itā€™s definitely an option. Iā€™m waiting to see what DV8 comes out with. It should be coming to market soon. I have the ADD rock crawler front bumper, so hoping itā€™ll look similar.
I have the FS-15 front bumper and love it, big fan of DV8

I hardly ever hang onto a car for more than 5 years. Once the warranty has expired and things start breaking - that seems to be about the time it's best for me to cut my losses. not to mention, I get bored with it after that long and start wanting something new. I've had one car that was different - a '94 Miata that I bought around 2004 and daily drove and did track events with, until 2012.. that car was the exception because it was such a fun car to drive
This: replace Miata with the 2010 Jaguar XKR we bought a few years ago and can't see getting rid of it. The Bronco on the other hand is fun for now until the next vehicle that strikes my fancy comes along

I'm currently driving a 2007 Expedition with 168,000 miles on it, I'd still be driving my 06 Mustang except the top started to separate, so we traded that in for my wife's F-150 instead of the Expy.

I'd drive the Bronco until the price of a major repair exceeds the residual value, or until my left knee gives out. I'm not convinced these new-gangled turbo engines are half as reliable as the Triton though.

Iā€™ll be teaching my kids, that havenā€™t even been thought of yet, how to restore it to drivable condition so they can have it. Brewing my own ethanol after gas is banned so we can take it to the dunes for the weekend

My hope is that I never need a new vehicle again. My rational mind aims for 20 years. My pessimistic brain figures I'll have to sell it when the economy fully collapses and my income no longer allows me to exist in a standard dwelling.

Since EV's are a joke, I'll be holding out until the Hydrogen Fuel Cell tech comes along......
