Iād wager that a PHEV version will out perform the ICE version. Electric motors are great at low end torqueProbably until a hybrid version comes out, if it has similar power and capabilities.
If the hybrid or EV version can't keep up with my 2.7 BL, then I'll be keeping it until something better comes out.
Iām with you.We are all buying, basically, a first year vehicle... with problems and growing pains. Knowing that, I'll likely keep it 4 years or 150,000 miles, which ever comes first. Hopefully, in that 4 years, Ford's Solid State battery tech is in their vehicles... and if so, that's what I'll replace it with: A solid state EV Ford Bronco.
They are close....
Solid State batteries are safer, lighter, and recharge super fast. But, are still in development.
The Hummer weighs 9,000 pounds as a traditional EV. That's just too heavy for an offroad vehicle and it will likely kill anyone it collides with on the highways.... Let's hope a Hummer never catches fire in traffic.... We need better battery safety and Ford's Solid State will likely be the answer.
I have the FS-15 front bumper and love it, big fan of DV8Yes, I saw that. Itās definitely an option. Iām waiting to see what DV8 comes out with. It should be coming to market soon. I have the ADD rock crawler front bumper, so hoping itāll look similar.
This: replace Miata with the 2010 Jaguar XKR we bought a few years ago and can't see getting rid of it. The Bronco on the other hand is fun for now until the next vehicle that strikes my fancy comes alongI hardly ever hang onto a car for more than 5 years. Once the warranty has expired and things start breaking - that seems to be about the time it's best for me to cut my losses. not to mention, I get bored with it after that long and start wanting something new. I've had one car that was different - a '94 Miata that I bought around 2004 and daily drove and did track events with, until 2012.. that car was the exception because it was such a fun car to drive
