I’ll be taking a long trip soon and I’ll be leaving the Bronco in long term airport parking for 3 weeks. I‘m worried that the battery may drain too much by then. I may have to buy a jump pack just to be sure. I’m wondering if anyone has left their Bronco for that long without a battery tender and, if so, what the results were.

Three week should be fine. The System will put itself in battery saver mode before it gets too low. I would go on a long drive before you park it so the battery is fully charged.

I would think 3 weeks should be fine, of course if it's sitting out in Blizzard conditions it may be different. The Bronco should shut itself down like others have said.

You can get a battery jumper pack on Amazon for less than 50 bucks so it sure wouldn't hurt, and they can be used to run USB devices and charge phones and such as an added bonus.

I just got back from a 3 week trip, and have another 5 week trip comping up. No issues leaving the car parked. Honestly, 3 weeks is nothing. I leave my 2007 Porsche Cayman in the garage for the entire winter, and it still starts up with no issues after 4 months.

I have trickle charger that I use every so often. It’s a ford performance one that shows the batter level on a scale of 1-8. Typical mine is usually at 4-5 and I only drive a 100 miles a week. I store mine occasionally and 3 weeks is usually when it goes into low power mode.

My battery has been dead after sitting for 3 weeks.. I think my rockslide engineering powered rails are draining the battery.
Update 10/2023: RSE has fixed this problem and the steps now have a low power sleep mode. Contact RSE support to receive updated controller for older steps.

Yes, the RSE's draw a surprising amount of power in standby and it doesn't matter if you switch them off. Unless driving daily a battery maintainer is needed (or pull fuse, etc). I added a SAE connector with waterproof cover near front bumper for easy connect.

Thanks for this .... since my Bronco isn't a daily driver, I have had a very low or dead battery a few times.. I recently disconnected the wires from my battery to test my theory about the RSE steps.

Thanks! Good information. I keep both my Porsches on trickle charges when I’m away. I’d do the same with the Bronco if I was leaving it in my garage - just to be safe. But thanks for the data.

Interesting. I guess it varies among different Broncos.

I’m buying a jump pack. If I don’t need it, I may just return it after my trip. But I’ll have another data point in early January.

I don't know if this is a gimmick or not, but I did see a commercial for these guys...

https://antigravitybatteries.com

They come with some sort of built-in isolated jump pack. Might be a good investment for a Bronco since their power hungry.

I regularly leave mine sitting 2-3 weeks parked without issues.

Last time I left it in a airport parking garage for a few weeks I used the app to do a remote start schedule. Siting for about a week without running will get the remote services disabled.

no application for a Ford.
Oh I didn't bother looking that up, but usually batteries are just a group number... You don't necessarily have to have one specific.
