As others have said, charge the battery up via long drive or grid power before the trip and you’ll be fine. If you are really concerned you could always pull the negative terminal off, lock up with your physical key and it won’t drop state of charge at all

wouldn't hurt to get one of those battery disconnect like I use when towing. Bronco seems to click and make other noises when just sitting there.

Lite Brite did a video about it and I immediately checked to see if there was an applicaton for a Ford BUT No. They have applications for a jeep though

Oh I didn't bother looking that up, but usually batteries are just a group number... You don't necessarily have to have one specific.

It will be interesting to see what comes out for the bronco battery wise. I have a anti-gravity battery on a motorcycle and while they are expensive it's been a reliable and awesome battery. Noticed the anti-gravity battery in their video has a battery monitoring system (BMS) built in and the Ford already has something similar built in line on the negative side of the battery. Seems like a number of people are having battery problems like the early JL people.

I returned from my trip. It sat outside in long term parking for 24 day, and started right up!

Ours was fine 10/4 to 12/10.

It went to sleep at 14 days and notified me.

I just got back from a 3 week trip, and have another 5 week trip comping up. No issues leaving the car parked. Honestly, 3 weeks is nothing. I leave my 2007 Porsche Cayman in the garage for the entire winter, and it still starts up with no issues after 4 months.
Consider getting a trickle charger

As interest, the stock battery is a big AGM making it a bit more resistant to damage after running it down.

Yes, the RSE's draw a surprising amount of power in standby and it doesn't matter if you switch them off. Unless driving daily a battery maintainer is needed (or pull fuse, etc). I added a SAE connector with waterproof cover near front bumper for easy connect.

I hadn't heard that anywhere before! I am considering these steps.
This is a pretty big deal for me as don't drive every day, or week. Or even month.
hmmmm 🤔

Thanks for the tip!

See this tread for more info post 27

Buy this put it in manual mode it will keep power to the steps till 11v then it will disconnect that way you can still crank the Bronco if battery get to low.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09B7BMM1...9Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=

If this link is no good later look up a dual battery isolator just make sure it will let the volts drop below a voltage lower than 12.6 but not too low to not let the battery still crank the Bronco. This one in manual mode disconnects at 11V

Thanks for this .... since my Bronco isn't a daily driver, I have had a very low or dead battery a few times.. I recently disconnected the wires from my battery to test my theory about the RSE steps.
shit fire! was going to buy these steps for my Warthog but not now.

Update 10/2023: RSE has fixed the battery drain problem and their steps now have a low power sleep mode. Contact RSE support to request an updated controller for older steps if you have battery drain issues.
