I wasn't replying to you or anything you wrote. I am speaking in general about the reluctance to embrace a new technology while I am seeing people begging for V8s and torque and HP. So do they really want that, or as some have admitted, do they just want a big growling engine.
My absolute favorite are the posters here that insist beyond the shadow of a doubt that the EcoBoost motors are garbage compared to an NA V8 because what they need is a predictable, perfectly linear, responsive powerband. Guess what provides a predictable, perfectly linear, responsive powerband? A frickin' electric motor does, way more so than any internal combustion engine.

I must have missed that global warming comment - it drives me nuts when I see that. no understanding of the difference between localized weather and global patterns and unpredictability/instability.

Other than provide range to an OFFROAD vehicle.

I've run the numbers. It's about $6 gallon.
Don't know what 'numbers' you've run. We've had it above $5 and Europe runs far higher than that. It would need to be in the double digits to 'force' EVs and even then they'd have to be massively subsidized because they cost so much more than a ICE motor. As I said, Legislation will make EVs replace gas far before prices do.

I've run numbers for the USA. I agree, EVs will be legislated in.

Do people really do this? I've been on various Ford forums for at least 15 years and I've only put one person on ignore in the Raptor Forum. I think most everyone else did too. All he ever talked about was what a POS the Raptor was and how wonderful RAM was.
