I'm wondering if a dealer with hundreds of reservations will have customers waiting the longest? You may think you're behind 75 people but really more like 7500.

As of a few days ago, My selected dealer here in Metro Detroit only had 48 for the big boy Broncos and 3 for the baby bronc. I am sure they have more than that now but Im not going to ask.

My guy said 38 and this was day two of reservations. They are a small dealer in North Georgia. Also said they were expecting 5 to 10 reservations.

Asked my sales guy at the local dealer how many reservations they received. He said 25. Really surprised for a small town dealer in our small state.

Have you asked your local dealer how many they received??
Just talked to my guy at Gateway Ford in Ponchatoula, LA -- small town about 30 miles north of New Orleans -- and he said that they have 50 reservations as of today.

This is sort of the most honest dealer survey ever. Dealers who treat people right have tons of reservations, and sleazy ones won't.

My dealer in a small Illinois town of 5300 had 15 on July 21. I was not given a breakdown between Bronco and Bronco Sport.

Most of these numbers are going to be exaggerated. They won’t you to know that someone else will buy your bronco if you don’t. I would assume the higher number they tell you, the higher they plan on marking up the bronco.

Put a reservation on a Wildtrak with a local Lithia dealer on the first day. Received zero response from them just the the Ford notification. After getting nervous I added a Badlands reservation out of town (smaller town about 60 miles away) and received instant response from the SM and GM. So maybe small town dealers might have some advantage. I live Fresno/Clovis which has about 640K in population vs Tulare which has about 64K. The Tulare dealer has 35 reservations. I added their email below.

Here is their response------------
Thanks again for considering us for your new Bronco!

Just a few updates, as information is scarce:

-We have over 35 Reservations in our system, and could not be happier with the response.

-Each Reservation is dated and time stamped.

-We will contact you based on that date and time stamp when the time comes to actually Order.

-No Ford Dealer knows exactly how many Broncos they will get.

-We are not going to mark up Bronco over MSRP.

Once we have the actual ordering guides and our allocation (how many we get) from Ford, we will call you.

You will have to come in and sit down with our ordering specialist and spec out your Bronco exactly how you want at that time.

We will be able to show you the MSRP at that time, based on the specs you want, and move your Reservation to an actual Order.

Please keep in mind, Ford will probably have no rebates or cheap interest rates on Bronco out of the gate. We will do all we can to help with financing if needed.

If you have any questions, please let us know, we are happy to help! ----------

One thing that concerns me is the fact they don't know how many allocations they may get??? A reservation might end in nothing?? Disappointing that they don't think there will be rebates or special financing- great time for zero financing promo.

But isn't an allocation different than the reservations? I thought the reservations are what customers are going to receive and allocations are separate inventory the dealers will receive to sell off the lot. Can someone clarify?

I was thinking that if a dealer gets little or no inventory allocated, they are probably going to be more inclined to adopt a take-it-or-leave-it stance when negotiating with customers who have reservations. Dealers will want to boost their allocations by holding on to pre-ordered vehicles customers walked away from.
