How much MPG will I gain going from 2.7L Wildtrak SAS to 2.3 Everglades?

That people have reasons, doesn't make those reasons good.

The fact is, modern vehicles don't warm up just sitting there idling. The absolute fastest way to warm up the vehicle is to get in, give it a few seconds to circulate some oil, then...drive away. Gently to be sure, but drive the car.

Absolutely none of that changes what I said.
Like I said, you do you…I guess. And modern cars have these things that are called heated seats and steering wheels that are already warm when one gets in no matter how warm the engine oil is.

well, THAT doesn't make any sense.

Unless...Ford is turning on the A/C regardless, even if you deliberately turn the A/C button off. Which some mfrs do.
Hmm... I'll relook that. Thanks for that note.

I've got an Everglades that's about to hit 20K miles. Gas mileage is right at 20 miles per gallon, but it's flat where I live and I'm not a particularly aggressive driver.

If you turn the defrost on in the winter with the heat, it will run the AC so I could see where that can cause lower mpg if it's running all the time.

To the OP, are you driving in 4A by chance instead of 2H? That could lower your mpg as well. If you use sport mode, it will default to 4WD or 4A I think.

Honestly it will be pretty similar….more depends on how they are driven. We have a 2dr black diamond 2.3 w/ 4.70s on “35s” that says 17.1 and a 2dr badlands 2.7 w/5.13s on 37s that says 17.6. Both have the FP tune. I do tend to drive mine more conservatively than my princess tho.

It will depend how you drive, where you live, and what you run for tires. I would think 16 -18 on pavement is reasonable in hilly terrain on stock tires providing you driving less then 65 mph. If you go with more aggressive tire, spend more time off road and in 4 wd as I do then you'll be happy to get 14 to 15 overall

My FE is currently up to 18.5! I just drove it to OBX last month and OCMD last weekend, so lots of highway miles.

It'll be back to around 16 in no time. 😅

Fuel usage is a datum point that may indicate something's wrong with the vehicle.

I would never ignore fuel usage numbers.
So you missed quoting his question. My answer wasn't about a particular vehicle MPG, but between two different trim levels, as in AVG MPG. You assuming I am ignoring a terrible MPG number compared to AVG numbers, which could indicate something wrong or it could be my foot full of lead. Lol. These things are peppy for what they are, but they're not MPG or 1/4 mile performers.

I have about 1k miles on my 2.7L wildtrak w/ sasquatch package and my MPG is pretty terrible, I'm averaging 15.2 MPG around town over the last 700 miles. I knew going into this that I wasn't going to get 20 MPG or anything, but it is making me consider getting the 4cyl. There is an Everglades near me that's a bit cheaper than my rig so the swap will probably be even-steven. I like the 6cyl but it's quite "bucky" compared to the 2.7L in my old 2018 F150. What do you guys think?
I have a 2023 2.7 2 door sasquatch with 17,000 miles and in Economy mode and using 93 octane I'm averaging 20 to 21.3 MPG. I'm not sure but once your engine, differentials, transmission and transfer case gets wear in a little you may find the same. I don't kick in the turbos too often andI am driving pretty conservative but you have to nail it some time to get the thrill with the power of the turbos...they're Awesome!!! When mine had low miles I wasn't getting very good mileage but now with 17k things are changing quite a bit. I love the 2.7 with the 10speed. I'd give it some time to break in more...

Have an Everglades we the perf tune and get better than that, but not a lot LOL. Don't buy it for the mpg, but it bec the glades is a high value combination of sweet options.
The glades CAN get pretty good mpg, but not if you put your foot into it, just like every other ecoboost. It's eco, OR boost.

Why run super--it's costing you about $10 to drive the same distance--assuming super is only $.50 a gallon more.

Didn't bother to read through more than the first page, but with only 1k on it you haven't even started breaking it in yet. You're also driving it around town with frequent starts/stops, so your mileage is going to be, in a word, terrible.

Ours has about 1500 miles on it (also not broken in yet), around town and on rural highways, we are at a combined average of 19.7 or so on 87 octane. I can't imagine switching to the 4-banger is going to get you much better, even around town. The weight isn't that much different, the power and displacement aren't that much different, I suppose if you get the 7-speed you MIGHT be able to force a bit better mileage by shifting into a higher gear that the auto wouldn't like.

I would bet that if you get out on the highway and cruise for a bit, you'll see numbers you're much happier with for a literal brick on wheels.
