I don't think you'll have any worries there Greg. The struts on the Jeep do the job properly, and I expect the ones on the Bronco will also. With the quality of the struts these days I don't think being sans a latch will be a problem. I'm been on a Jeep forum for several years, and haven't heard any complaints in that department.
Good to know! I posted elsewhere I'm sure a $0.30 hose clamp on the strut would also alleviate any concerns.

You'd think - but I've seen plenty of SUVs/Wagons/Hatchbacks lose a rear window when the hatch was slammed shut and someone forgot they had 2x4s or just had the hatch area packed to the extreme.
Ha, I can see that happening.. but you have to Try hard to ignore that spare If you wanna close it

How does it work on the Jeeps?
.... and No, I haven't noticed piles of broken glass in parking lots in my area.

I’ve never had this problem with my jeep
Exactly. You would have to be a complete moron to do this.

The only thing is you need to have the rear cargo door fully extended or the glass or more like the rubber stripping could rub against the cargo door when opening.

How high does the rear window open? Your bigger risk might be lifting it in the garage to load and forgetting to put it back down before backing out! My dad did that twice with his Navigator. In too much of a hurry and left the back lifted up. Crunched it both times.

Yeah, well, we have some pretty stupid warning labels in the world, that likely stemmed from someone doing something stupid.
