Ford Bronco How Tinted is the Soft-Top? How to Tint It More? C0349025-6215-46EE-AA2F-55155F01F3CA

The soft-top windows obviously have some tint to them. But exactly how tinted are they? What tint percentage are we talking here? 15%? 20%? It’s hard to tell because the windows are wrinkled. Does anyone have an exact measurement, or have access to someone who could measure?

For those with soft-top tinting experience... What would be the best way to tint these soft-top windows? I imagine it would be difficult; not just because they are wrinkled, but because they are already tinted as well.

Thank you ahead of time for the answers/advice.

I kind of doubt you can tint vinyl windows but I’ve been wrong before, that one time in ‘99

I wonder how difficult it would be to replace those vinyl windows with darker ones? I assume an upholstery place could do it - Likely would be your last case scenario if nothing else worked as I imagine it wouldn’t be cheap.

No, an upholstery place won't do it. They're made such that the tinted portion isn't sewn in. Bestop does a great job and you don't want to screw them up.

But Bestop doesn't make the trash bag on the Moar Door that is pictured. The OP can spray paint the windows. He can't make them worse.

You're right, moar door and the crappy side windows should have given it away.

And I'm with you. Bestop makes a superior product. Some see the sticker shock, but they are worth it. The Webasto top will be in a dumpster in a few years. The Bestop will be going strong. Even when it comes to Bestop, the Twill is the gold standard. Not enough good things can be said.

soft top so ugly
I’d rather have an ugly woman, than no woman at all. And that’s how I feel about the soft-top Bronco. I’ll buy her a new top later 😜

Have you used this stuff on a soft-top before?
I have not.. It looks like you would have to be very careful and use consistent spray to get a good result. I found a guy on You tube that did it, but i dont think he was very consistent with his spary (looks uneven)

But it COULD potentially work. Also not sure about wear and constant wrinkling wouldn't damage it over time.

I saw some old posts online of people using static cling film tint on their Jeep Soft tops, but it never looked right. I’m hoping the aftermarket produces some darker tint windows we can swap in.
