How to get antifreeze/coolant reservoir cap off?

How in Gods name do you get the antifreeze/coolant reservoir cap off? I can turn it 1/3 of a revolution to loosen or tighten it but it wont come off!! is there a new Ford trick to a simple procedure or what?
I need to top it off cuz its below min level.

Also, antifreeze is antifreeze right? I dont HAVE to get the Motorcraft one specd by Ford for a top off do I?

Mine just screwed off. I recall having to put a bit of oomphf behind it but no tricks to removing it.

Also, I would consult the owners manual for the type of coolant as antifreeze comes in all sorts of different flavors these days. I topped off my Ecoboost F150 yesterday and that takes the orange dex-cool type but I think the Bronco was green if I remember right.

do NOT mix different types of coolant - only use the specified antifreeze if topping up. Mixing incompatible coolants can cause radiator & cooling system damage!

Maybe it's like a child proof cap and you have to push down a bit before you can continue to turn it. I haven't checked my Bronco yet, but that was the way it has been on most of my previous vehicles.

I made the same assumption but @BlueBronco said his just screwed off .... I would hate to take it in just for a stupid fill cap issue

Also I had it at the dealer 5 days ago and they didnt top it off as they claimed they top off all fluids as standard procedure

Mine spins off just fine, not a push and turn, just turn. It does have a felt audible 1 click when closed all the way, just 1 click please.

The coolant cap on my 2018 Mustang GT was a bear to get off. I actually stopped at the dealer and asked them to pop the hood on another Mustang so I could try and remove the coolant cap to compare it with mine. Turned out my cap was somehow torqued down hard. I suspect the same thing has occurred on your Bronco. Good luck.

listening to all the input I think is somehow similar and i will have to do the same thing at a dealership

I thought about that but i dont want to break anything with unintentional force

Take it to the dealer and let them open it or break it and fix it. Monitor the procedure in person
