How to have Apple Car Play start automatically?

i have a Base Bronco so all of my navigation and music is through apple car play. When I start the truck I have to select apps then apple car play. Is there a way to have it automatically go to car play without having to punch a bunch of virtual buttons?

It SHOULD do it automatically. But, to be honest - it's been fickle for me too. Sometimes it connects within seconds. Sometimes not at all. Sometimes only if USB is plugged in. For instance today I started the engine and immediately went inside to the house and got back out a few minutes later and the music was playing. The phone was on me and somehow it was playing via Bluetooth even though I was several yards away.

I gave up trying to figure out how, why and when.

I assume this will be a big fix through FordPass. I know in f150 that thing is flawless…but definitely issues in the bronco.
