I am in the middle of this project on a manual transmission Bronco (Black Diamond). The steps are very similar.

Pictures are how to remove the gear shift knob and the rear access to the console - so that wiring can be done without removing the console.

I will post more pictures once the epoxy dries.

I winded up getting one of the adaptors off Etsy-it’s a PLA 3D printed item. I could have printed one myself using one of my SLA printers, but had my doubts about how well the resin would handle heat wear and tear.

Anyways, one of the issues with 3D printed items are build build lines-it’s just way they work and they can be eliminated or reduced by orientation of the part.

I winded up sanding mine starting with some 320 grit and working my way up to 2200. I couldn’t get a decent shine on it so I went with plan B and broke out the plastic dip I got originally for my Bronco emblem(winded up replacing it with a black one) and sprayed it. Figured the rubberized finish would hold up well to abuse and match the interior pretty well too.

This is what it looks like before sanding.

I’ll post an after photo when I get everything installed.

I tried to do this with a piece I found on Etsy. It fits the charger perfectly and will work but when I went and took the console apart, it turns out that the OEM factory charger is the entire bottom of that well. I’d have to order a new console or make a false bottom to put in the new charger. If your vehicle doesn’t have a factory charger, then this solution is fine.

Mine is just quick and dirty from the 3d printer to bring the base of the compartment up to level with a cheap aftermarket Qi charger, plugged into the USB C port. Works well though.

Ford actually designed it to heat up your phone so much, it can be used as a hand warmer during the cold Winter months. Being a fellow Canadian, you should be thanking Ford for their innovation.

I’m not sure you have enough space below those areas. I swapped that panel out for the lux panel and didn’t see empty space below there. However there is an opening under the center cubby. That is where the center speaker is in Lux.
The other issue is, you don’t really want your phone in direct sunlight.

It’s a nice option, but I like my DIY charger.
