Hello guys and gals! I’m looking at buying a wildtrak and wanted to know how well the paint corrects on the bronco. I unfortunately I haven’t had any come through out shop so I haven’t been able to test it on my own.

Man it’s to early for me to be postingpaint “corrects”. Not sure I understand what you mean by the term “corrects”. Can you explain?
oops. That didn’t help much. What, exactly is a paint “correction“? No offense intended, I just don’t understand what you are talking about. Can you explain your terms, and how we as customers are affected?Yeah I meant paint correction, didn’t catch that before I posted
*I did edit my post a bit more so refer to that at any time*oops. That didn’t help much. What, exactly is a paint “correction“? No offense intended, I just don’t understand what you are talking about. Can you explain your terms, and how we as customers are affected?
thx.
Didnt someone scratch the heck out of it in the first picture? How so?
Yup, that’s the dealership. That’s is the before picture before I corrected itDidnt someone scratch the heck out of it in the first picture?
Well there you go! That person has no business ever touching a car again.Yup, that’s the dealership. That’s is the before picture before I corrected it
Unfortunately nothing has rolled through our shop. I want one to come through so I correct it myself before I get my broncoHas your shop done a new ford ranger? They’re built/painted in the same facility so it would be the same as that. Mine cleaned up nicely but I did find some dirt/fish eyes under the paint.
That’s dealership level craftsmanship. Funny enough the GM of that dealership understands that and ships several to us before it goes through their recon dept.Well there you go! That person has no business ever touching a car again.
I’ve dealt with it but new models are weird. I’ve corrected Honda accords before but mine in particular is the first year of the new gen so my paint was abnormally soft compared to other accords.99.9% bet Ford uses PPG OEM paint. I'm sure you've probably worked on PPG paint in the past.
Thanks for the info! Yeah we have to tell our touch up account that not ever paint is going to match 100% because it’s so difficult to match OEM paintMy father in law has owned an auto body shop for over 35 years, he just repaired an HPR Ranger. He said it’s easy enough for anyone with a good eye and decent paint system. The only thing he said is that the HPR doesn’t touch up well with a small amount of paint (ie touch up pen, brush in bottle) due to it being essentially impossible to get the proper ratio of the tinting agent on a scale that small. It is indeed PPG as someone mentioned.
