After lifting my BD and adding 34" tires I took it to the dealership for an alignment. The service writer goes out and looks at it, then when he comes back in he asks me "what kind of Bronco SPORT is that?". That should have been the firat red flag, after 3hrs they tell me they can Align it because it's too new for their machine. I take it to an independant shop by my house, and they have it aligned within 45 minutes.

No Jeep people wave, though. My son has a Jeep. He's the only one who waves at me. A lot of people call mine a Jeep. My students ask me about THE BRONCO. They know.

When I first got mine, I had Jeeps giving me the wave constantly. They've stopped in the last 2 months.

I had a number of shops refuse to align my 2004 Volvo S60R after I had replaced hubs and other components in the front end. They claimed it had some mystical suspension they were ill-equipped to service. It has remotely adjustable struts and headlights that auto-level. I now use it as a barometer of the caliber of shop it is when calling for an appointment for work on any of my vehicles. It's my coal mine canary.

Just this evening in the Lowe's parking lot while I loaded my purchases in my Bronco...

A woman's voice from behind me. "Oh, that's a very pretty Jeep!"

Me: "I'm sorry?"

Woman: "I like your Jeep!"

Me: "Thanks, but it's not a Jeep!"

Woman: "What?"

Me: "Please don't call it a Jeep. It's a Bronco."

Woman: "That's a Bronco?"

Me: "Yes. They just started building them again."

Woman: "Well, that's a good-looking Bronco!"

Me: "Thank you!"

Woman: "Very nice!"

Most folks associate Bronco with the 80's and 90's full size vehicle that looked like a shortened F-150 with a camper shell. (3rd through 5th Gen)

The 6th Gen looks a lot more like a Jeep (especially from the rear) than a 5th Gen.

I haven't even seen a 6th gen outside an event or dealer mannequin yet.
