I am showing my age here but I am so honored to have the pleasure of owning, driving and heavy 4 wheeling not one but 2 Gen 1 Broncos- and now owning a new 2021 Bronco. I have had a passion for Bronco's since I was barely a teenager- and it never let up. I was in my late teens when I got my first Bronco- a 1971 with 170 Cubic Inch six and 3 speed manual transmission- on the tree. Then a 1970 with a tricked out 302, Holley 4 barrel and headers- also a 3 speed manual on the three. That one was insane- I left everybody in the dust on the street and the trail. I had them while I was in College and working part time. So about 4 years between the two of them. I graduated and was a young engineer and the second Bronco rusted out so bad, I traded it in for a brand new custom ordered Jeep CJ5 in 1979 with a 304 V8.

Then just 2 years ago I decided to pursue my life long passion- restoring a 1966 Bronco. I found one, bought it- it was so rusted out and drive train failing but I drove it home- had tears in my eyes driving it home from the memories of being a teenager. Long story short, I tried my hardest to restore it- bought thousands of dollars of parts from Tom's Bronco parts, rebuilt the entire drive train. Getting the body work done- welding, etc. was a nightmare- I got badly ripped off by 2 body shops. I could not find anybody to do the work- that did not want 100K. I am a mechanical guy, can't do body work. I even got a Miller Welder and tried with my GF's son to do the body work in a tiny 2 car garage in a restricted community. I end up selling it and lost about 35K. Oh well, live and learn. Lesson to you young guys- mechanical work easy- body work, welding and paint- super, super expensive, if you can even find anybody.

Now, this amazing new 2021 Bronco is finally here. It reminds me so much of the Gen 1 Bronco. Of course I reserved a Black Diamond Monday morning. I am so excited , can't wait. (My 28 year old son is getting one too).

Anyone else own Gen 1 Broncos, and now ordered a 2021?

My first car was a ‘67 Bronco Wagon, ‘71 Mustang 3O2, 3 on the tree, limited slip front and rear. It was a rust bucket and I sold it the mid ‘90s when my father and I were restoring the ‘53 M-37, now soon to be sold to a friend’s son who can give it the attention and driving time it deserves.

I am hoping my ‘05 Xterra with 210k on the clock lasts long enough for me to order a Bronco late next year, otherwise I may need an interim vehicle and order in 2022. Likely a Black Diamond, 4 door, 7M. Neither my wife nor I have ever owned a vehicle with an automatic...

I like the original Classic Broncos, but have never owned a 1st Gen.

Previous owner of a 1987 and 1994 FSB and still current member over on FSB where I posted quite a bit of tech. Those were great trucks with plenty of room and versatility (for what was available back then)... Those had plenty of interior room, the removable caps and more than enough factory height off the ground to utilize for nearly anything a person needed that type of truck for, whether simple off roading, trailing, camping, mudding, winter use or just daily driving.

That’s why my interest is geared toward the new 2DB. :)

Those who still own an original Classic Bronco, post up the details and pics!

Sorry to hear about your restoration project. They can be long and challenging. It's even harder if you can't do all the work yourself.

I wanted a 69 Bronco bad when I was in highschool. I built a Mustang and a 427 Shelby kit car over the years. But when I had a bug to build a truck, I ended up with an FJ40 instead of a Bronco. It took me a long time to complete, but now that it's back on the road, we've been loving it.

The plan is to replace my 2007 FJ Cruiser with the 2021 Bronco and finally scatch that itch I've had all these years. :)

I had a 70 with a 302, uncut fenders and a factory 10k pto winch. Got it back in 95 before I got my license.sokd it the next year and regretted it ever since. Had 2 79’s (one with a 429 cj that was a beast) and an 83. None of them meant what that 70 did though.

after a while I transitioned to the Jeep world when they discontinued production. So happy to finally be coming back to my roots. I’ve finally had my fill with much of the Jeep community.

Nice FJ!!

I had a few TJ's and with the restoration of the 66 failed, i picked a gem of a TJ- a 1997 Sport, 6 cylinder, 5 speed manual one FL owner in town with only 18K miles on it. Had it 2 years now and only made it better. It now has 25K miles on it. I will need to part with it as you are parting with your FJ to get the new 2021 Bronco.

EBs are nice but prices have jumped the shark. :(

In comparison, you can still buy old Wranglers/CJs at relatively low prices and have a lot of fun messing around with them. Maybe the new Bronco will moderate EB prices, similar to how new Wrangler moderates the older Wrangler/CJ prices.

Also here is my old 4x4 project - 1972 Series III Land Rover. In the process of rebuilding the axles. Hey it has the white top some folks are wanting on the new Bronco. :)

I owned a 74 'Ranger Edition' Bronco and wheeled with it in Colorado. Climbed like a beast with a 351w converted to EFI. I kick myself for selling it a few years back.

This is the exact color I'm looking for. I sure hope Area 51 is close to this.
