Def try paintless dent repair from a reputable place. You would be surprised what a good body tech can do.
New hood will have problems...sourcing the part may be tough, no matching vin tag for resale, but most importantly if you had hail in the area every collision center is going to be packed so your paint will be a rush job. I have seen some careless crap come out of those situations whether it is fit and finish of alignment, or contaminated paint due to rushing items in/out of paint.

Wait... this maybe the ADV rider in me... but... aren't these trucks meant to get dented, scratched and dirty?

That socks but don't dimples stabilize golf balls ? perhaps you will get a desired side effect
Haha! Years ago there was a myth-busters episode where they dimpled a car to see if it had less wind resistance and therefore better gas mileage. To their amazement it really did improve their gas mileage!

PDR is the way to go. I had a Suburban that probably had 75-100 dimples from hail and all were removed perfectly.

Definitely PDR! I had it done to three sizeable dents in my '15 Mustang, which is guard. You know how dark colors show everything, you can't even tell. One of them involved a body line/factory crease, and it's perfect. Word of mouth will be your best bet for a good tech. Start with the used side of a dealership. They use them all of the time to recondition vehicles before putting them on the lot.

I'm in south Florida and have a PDR guy who work on my vehicles frequently(Darn kids). Easy fix. Do not go through insurance.
