I think they fixed the roof rails w/ 4 door

I went to price out my wildtrak again today after getting some advice over the weekend from outdoor enthusiasts. Realized that this time around, the rails were shown in the render.

Before it wouldn't allow the rails with sas or 2.7, on a 4 door. Did they fix the bug?

Maybe I'm misremembering and I could select this all along. But finally, finally, the Bronco I built matches exactly what I want. Ok I'd like more interior options but, the exterior here is literally perfect

You selected bimini top, didn't you.

Roof rails don't even show up as an option on wildtrak for FE.

Bimini adds them to the render, instead of the Bimini. It's a bug.

Right now, everything points to not being able to order the roof rails with a SAS or 2.7, but I have not heard any reason why you won't be able to either install them at the dealer or after receiving the vehicle.

If it truly is a GVWR issue - they may ask to provide a VIN # when ordering to validate that you can in fact add them to your vehicle.

Is that something that manufactures really care about and have done in the past? I have never heard of auto parts being restricted based on your vin, especially if you install it yourself. worst case I’ll give you the vin for my base to use

Yes you can. I would guess the question comes down to if it can be part of the cars order so it can be financed with it, can it be there on day 1, and not some back ordered part on the day you get your Bronco.

Given that the GVWR is linked to DOT and NHTSA regs it is a likely scenario - if Ford were to knowingly sell something that violates the reg for your vehicle it's a problem. Most aftermarket guys don't give a shit because they can easily label it for off-road use only and put the burden on you to know what's legal. Ford lawyers probably won't allow that, citing that they have a responsibility to know it for you.
