I was told switching to a 4 door soft top might not help.

I have a 7/15 res and 2 door basesquatch on order. when I asked my dealer about switching they said" we do not recommend you change your order because you are one of our earlier reservation holders and they do not believe it would help me get it any quicker". just wondering what you guys think of that. They wont tell me what number I am in line. so that is all I have to go off of.
Thanks in advance!

Yeah, you switch and I bet you’re scheduled immediately just because of your reservation date. However if I was that early of a reservation date, and I was really set on the 2 door, I’d wait it out.

Personal choice I think.

https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/removing-these-3-constraints-commodities-will-improve-your-bronco-order’s-chances-of-getting-scheduled-says-ford.29799/

This memo was sent to Ford dealers today to help guide customers improve their chances of getting their Bronco order scheduled.

To improve a customer's chance of getting their order scheduled, we recommend they consider making the following adjustments based on our most constrained commodities:

Remove From Order And Install Later (part #'s listed below - must be ordered via parts department):
  • Paint Protection Film (nationally capacity is 2% vs. 14% order mix)
    • Alternative: Paint Protection Film (Part #VM2DZ-2120000-A)
  • Trailer Tow (national capacity is 31% vs. 62% order mix)
    • Alternative: Trailer Hitch Kit (#MB3Z-19D520-A) & Wiring Harness for Trailer Hitch Kit (#FT1Z-15A416-A)
  • MIC Hard Top (switch to soft top w/ prep kit on 4 door)

I switched to a 4-door soft top in August after being told I would have to wait till 2022 for my original order and had a build date in two weeks.

I want to hold out because I have already waited this long and i love the look of the 2 door. Daily driving a v10 is getting to my pocket with gas being 70$ a week. I test drove a 4 door wildtrak and the only thing I hated was the b pillar making the blind spot huge and not being able to see when I turn my head to the left.

Think you answered your own question.
I was up in the air about the top. Decided to switch to the soft top because of hard top issues and getting the pre built wiring out in if I want to add later. I was a may 2021 order and my truck was built yesterday even with Sas and lux.

I’m also a 7/15 2 door basequatch.

Personally I don’t really want the 4 door near as much, and it’s more expensive. The idea of spending more to get something I want less, is one I find very unappealing.

That being said, I have been dead set on a 2 door since day 1, so your mileage may vary.

can you make peace and be happy with the 4 door?

I thought about dropping lux but really wanted the heated steering wheel... I think I would have been a bit sad every winter. On the other hand, I drove the soft top and liked it so it was a worthwhile swap to get scheduled.

I think you're (theoretically) in the best position you can be to get the rig you want...

If I was in your position I'd try to hang onto hope a bit longer.
