I'm thinking more about putting some self adhesive felt strips on the parts of the roof that come close, if Ford doesn't do that already now. Or maybe both, PPF and felt. I'm not sure just the PPF would be enough if the bars make contact too often.

Has anyone ordered/installed this? My Bronco is shipping this week and I want to get some coming for protection from the soft top frame. I just wonder how well it would hold up to a metal bracket scraping against it. Is it like a phone screen protector where it saves you once and you have to replace it?

You definitely need the film plus the felt. The soft top on my dealer demo had felt, my bronco at the Off-roadeo did not. Not sure if the felt was something my dealer added or if its standard now. However, I could still see a mark (not a scrape) where the felt was rubbing on the roll bar. So I think you want both layers of protection for now.

I recommend everyone who plans on removing their hard top apply this.
Removing and replacing the hard top is like playing Operation. But, instead of a loud buzzer you scrape paint off the roll cage.

The best tip I saw was to open it from inside the car, step through to the back seat and close it from the center so you’re not pulling from one side or the other.

Does anyone have a picture of the felt and where it's located.

Thanks for posting. Just ordered a set. StickerFab also posted his solution, but don't like how it was two pieces and not clear.

I was gonna use 3M PPF film, but since these are already cut to fit I just ordered a set. If there are no felt strips I'll get some myself too, once (if?) my Bronco shows up here.

Just asked a guy who got delivered last week if he had the felt added. Looks like the factory did update things

The best tip I saw was to open it from inside the car, step through to the back seat and close it from the center so you’re not pulling from one side or the other.
When you release the back to put the top up, it MUST click twice or the opposing side will lag and the twisting brings the supports closer together reducing the space between the support and sport bar, if you don’t, you WILL scratch!

I ordered these and they’re getting installed at the body shop after they finish up the work. I didn’t have scapes in the roll bar - but, the hardware was scraping against itself. Figure, better safe than sorry for $20.

There was felt in certain spots when it delivered. Not sure if they are strategically placed for the roll bar or what. I haven’t inspected well enough. I will when I get it back from the dealer. I ordered more felt tape to reinforce where needed.

I knew I should have installed these myself…but, I opted for the free labor while it was in the body shop. Anyone else install these? Passenger side looks good. Driver side looks like a kindergartner cut them (see lower line). I didn’t unroll them prior to handing the package over - no idea why whoever installed them would have had to cut them if they were pre-cut to size.
