Let’s just be honest here, if Ford was really interested about longevity, this thing would have an iron block NA V6 and V8, not two turbo engines.

So my problem is that I want a badlands with roof sound damping and the v-6. The built will not allow both. Also will not allow protect paint or roof rail with the v-6. But on the wild track the built will allow all those with a v-6.
So don’t think it’s a weight thing because it’s allow on the wild tack.

Weird... Ford needs to explain this!

The extra money for the 2.7 is well worth it. I'm also in the 2.3 manual or 2.7 auto camp. The 2.3 auto was never an option for me. The mpg is going to be negligible especially. I'm guessing .5 mpg for real world driving. My friends f150 with the 2.7 gets about .8 mpg worst than my Ranger with the 2.3 and his is a heavier car.

Man! Such a tough decision between needs and wants! The price just makes it harder...

The motor is only slightly heavier than the 2.3...but I think the auto is a ton heavier than the 7 speed...?
