Current JK 4-door owner who is looking to move into a new or lower mileage vehicle in the next coupla years.

If the Bronco disappoints- which seems unlikely for my personal needs- the remaining options for me are:
* Another JK with significantly lower mileage.
* A JL, but only in the unlikely event that a Hemi/stick combo comes to reality.
* A Gladiator, which would probably jump to the top of the list if the Hemi/stick combo came into play.

If it turns out to be an unbearable bust, swap, it off for a King Ranch Expedition.

I'm an underpaid teacher, so for years I have been driving whatever cars I get for free and cheap when neighbors and relatives die. It would be nearly impossible for me to be disappointed by a car with under 100,000 on the OD. (And a warranty, too!)
But on the really, really impossible chance that the Bronco is disappointing, then I will be driving a very disappointing vehicle for the rest of my life.
Or...
One of two other things could happen...
1.) The Bronco is so lame that nobody wants it and Ford will quit production after only 2 years. So when I die it will be very rare and therefore very valuable, and my children can fight over it. Or...
2.) Ford is so deep into their investment in this vehicle that they have to improve it to recoup their development costs and will end up making it undeniably awesome. So I will trade up for the more awesome one when it comes out.

Last year my plan was to get an FJ Cruiser this summer until I learned about the new Bronco. I'll go back to that.

The answer I want to give you is,
A Wrangler with the 392, but we know IF it comes to market, it will probably be close to $100K

I have a number of teachers in my family... y'all are ALL underpaid. Thanks for what you do.

If the Bronco somehow happens to be awful. Which i don’t think It will be. I’d seriously consider a slightly used Lexus GX. It’ll go forever, basically a 4 runner but a heck of a lot nicer, and because V8.

Do you want my FJ that I’m planning to trade in? Lol

If it disappoints, which I’m sure it won’t, I may look into a Wrangler or 4Runner.

If that’s the case I would either-

- Keep my 2014 Outback longer (I’m the only one in my family that likes it though)
- Look at another Subaru like the Ascent or Forester
- Look at a Wrangler and hope it is reliable.
- Wait a few years for the next gen 4Runner.

I’m banking on the Bronco being all that it claims to be though and that they hit it out of the park.
