I am an older gearhead from the 60's. I hoped to be dead before having to convert to metric but alas I am still ratcheting.

My understanding is that cars have been 100% metric for a few decades now.

Actually pretty interesting info. Anything designed after 1985 by Ford was Metric and a decent amount prior to that was already.

Is it really that difficult to deal with both SAE and Metric fasteners? It's not like they are different in operational concept.

Older gearhead from the 1970's BTW.

I mainly work on Early Broncos and can tell the difference between 7/16, 1/2, & 9/16 from 5 feet away even with my poor eyes, but my mind still does not work well in MM. I occasionally drop in a 5.0 to try and ease into the metric thing.

Wife had a Jeep Cherokee. One of the starter bolts was SAE. The other was metric.

That took... quite a while to figure out while underneath the car.

As long as it's consistent, I don't mind. But mixed parts is a pain.

All the threads will be metric. The drives will be a combination of hex and torx.
