Example.

Your original order was 2 door wildtrack before 3/19 and updated before 10/9

You add HOSS and it remains MY22 pricing. Your price protection would be $800
You add HOSS and it changes to MY22.5 pricing. Your price protection would be $2800

I doubt I'll be the first Wildtrak person to chime in, but if I get a reply fairly early I'll try to update what I found out.

I was a Wildtrak order/res before Oct 1st 2021 but changed to Badlands because of the flexibility to drop/add Sasquatch to try and trigger a lucky roll for scheduling.

I basically swapped back because of the Hoss 3.0 and that it pretty much puts the Wildtrak back on the path and image I had visioned when I originally placed the reservation.

Was you original order before 3/19/21? I'd be curious if you were after that how it would be handled. It sounds like its just an option and won't change anything.

Yes.
My original reservation date was Sept 23, 2020 for a Wildtrak.
I had it converted to an order on March 17th 2021, but 99'd it because I wanted Modular top at the time.

Dude youade my day. I've been so pissed, Even posting, that those "rebate checks" don't even come close to the price increase! I had no idea they upped them a couple grant!

My $695 turned into $2445! Dang..maybe I can afford the HOSS or the MOD now :)

I ordered Oct 30, 2021 and expected to get a 22 model. I will get stuck with the latest price increase but if I get bumped to '23 and they try to stick me with another price increase I am going to pass..

Yes, I think because HOSS is an option it won't trigger it. But if you switch from BL to WIldtrack to get HOSS it would trigger mid year pricing. but either way you would be price protected if you ordered before march 19, 2021.
So here's my situation and I'm still confused on what to do, if anything.
I have a day 2 reservation and reserved a Badlands. 99' my order since I'm at Steven's Auto and was 90+ something down the list to get a 21'. Put my 22' BL order on 10/18/2021. Now that the HOSS 3.0 has come out I want to switch to a WildTrak. I know I don't have any price protection for the 3/19/21 order date. Do I have price protection for the 10/18/2021 date? And if I do, will I lose that if I decide to message my dealer today and switch to a HOSS WildTrak?

So the last sentence really sucked. If you ordered a 2022 before March 7 2022, but it does not get built, you will pay 2023 pricing. I am a late reservation holder, ordered my 21 after March 19, 2021, switched to the 22 when order banks opened last year with that price increase and if they don't build my outer banks, sas, mic top, lux in 2022, then I get to pay another price increase for a 2023, no thanks ford. No fun waiting just pay more.

You know I have no idea now. Initially I though your reservation had to be converted to an order before March 19th. However, reading this it says reservation OR order.

2022 MY Pricing for Customers Who Placed a Reservation or an Order Prior to March 19, 2021
What does price protection mean?

Ford will honor 2021 MY MSRP pricing if you had a reservation or order as of March 19, 2021. Your dealer will be issued a certificate for a similarly equipped vehicle that covers the pricing difference from 2021 MY to 2022 MY for the selected series and door configuration you reserved or ordered as of October 1, 2021. Final transaction details, including price, will be agreed upon by you and the dealer.

My thoughts exactly! If you placed an order Oct of 2021 for a MY22 you should be price protected through MY2023 as well if they aren’t able to build a MY22 for you.

Yes, I didn't catch that at first because I thought it had to be an order as well. Reading further, it appears that since my order wasn't placed until Oct 18th I missed the Oct 1st deadline for my price protection and certificate to my dealer. I'm going to message my dealer and see if he can provide any clarity on this and whether it makes sense to switch my build around if I'm going to lose money.

I think Ford regrets ever announcing price protection in early 2021. At the time they had no way of knowing that the US economy was on the cusp of high inflation (which is even higher specifically in the automotive industry).

We can expect them to do the minimum they said they would do in early 2021, but no more.

Of course this sucks from the customer's perspective (and it's especially sucky to doubly punish consumers for being forced to wait by Ford), but it's what it is.

Reserved and ordered 2-door BL prior to March 19, 2021.
Changed order for MY2022 to 2-door Base before the October 2021 deadline.

Should I expect price protection for BL or Base?

The way I understood it before MY2022.5 price increases, it was for the BL (which is currently a certificate for $2,975)

The wording is a little confusing, but It almost sounds as though any order before 10/1/21 is what you certificate is based on. Previous price protection plan
