My Bronco was equipped with the 8" screen and I originally thought I'd be happy with it. After about a week I realized I wanted the 12" screen and started my search for an upgrade. I came across the Infotainment 8" to 12" screen upgrade package and ordered it.

I was originally told 6-8 weeks for arrival but it came in about 3 weeks.

Here is the 12" screen upgrade kit

https://infotainment.com/shop/inter...ade-with-wireless-apple-carplay-android-auto/

Here is their install video:

I had mine installed by an audio shop. It was $230 for the installation.

The kit comes with
  • The 12" screen
  • A new APIM module
  • A new front dash
  • A couple of new cable connectors and a custom wiring harnesses
Forscan was not needed as the unit came pre-programmed to my VIN. It is official Ford parts and you can add Factory Nav (for an additional cost) if you want. I did not add the Ford Factory Nav as I use Android Auto. I can add the Ford Factory Nav later if I want but I highly doubt I'd ever use it so I more than likely won't.

The photos do not do the difference justice. It is much more pronounced in person. I a very happy with the upgrade and while it is pricey, it was worth it in my opinion..

That's honestly not too bad of a price. My son paid $2K for an Alpine upgrade to his Jeep JK infotainment center. He and I installed it together. It's not that big (9 inch maybe), but it is pretty nice compared to the stock unit.

Having owned Broncos now with both screens, I have to say the 8 inch is entirely adequate, but the 12 inch is MUCH nicer.

Yeah it's a bit pricey but considering you also get a new dash with the kit, it's not bad.. I got 10% off so I paid $2250 and another bonus is they do not charge sales tax...

I also had an Alpine Restyle upgrade in my Jeep JK (I bet we had the same unit) and I think it was like $2,000 or so and that was just for the unit and wiring harnesses. I think it also came with a small module box that was a PIA to update.

Do you believe/can tell if there is a difference in processing power? Example, the 8in when cha ing volume, is the vol. Gauge I stand/near instant or is the vol changed by the time the gauge appears? Another example would be responsiveness. The 8 seems to have a delay more often than not. Does the 12?

TIA

Just had it installed today. Give me a few days of use and I'll report back..

Yeah. I've used both in my two Broncos. The 12 inch does respond faster - basically instantly. With the 8 there was a slight delay.

If you price it out it’s about $2000 - $2100 in official Ford parts at MSRP. So if you pay full price that’s about ≈$450 for the programming, the custom wiring harness, the fact it’s put in a nice little kit for you, and of course their profit margins.

Granted I’m sure they’re not paying anywhere close to MSRP for Ford parts. But honestly $450 for their “special sauce” is not bad. And given we’ve seen other companies on this forum that have charged $2600 for only $1300 in Ford parts, I think the price is definitely acceptable.

Still a lot of cheddar to pay vs getting it when it's built, but considering people are asking 4-5k (or more) for a sub 1k build option for the MIC top, I guess it's not that bad :p

It is a pricey addition but the only way to get it on my 2023 was via the 333A package that cost $2800. Sure the 333A package adds a few other things like the 360 camera and forward sensors but neither of them are interesting to me and they are not addons that I would seek out..

I thought I'd be happy with the 8" screen but in the end I was not..

Overall I am very happy with the kit and the fit and finish. Everything works out of the gate and it arrived programmed and ready to roll...

The only additional programming you need is if you opt to add Ford Factory Nav. I did not add that option so mine was a plug and play affair..

Oh yeah it’s up there for sure.

High package was a $2800 option back in the day, so for most people it probably would have made more sense to just do that.

But obviously getting to the High package in the first place required you bumping up to at least Outer Banks. So if you were originally looking at a Base, BB, or BD… that’s a big chunk of change if all you really want is the 12” screen.

---

Now if you were already in the upper trims… the yeah, should have gotten the High package.

I will say one of my personal regrets was not getting the High package. But I was also flirting with a $50,000+ price tag, which in my state triggers a higher “luxury” vehicle tax rate. So that $2800 High package would have cost closer to $3800 once you add in the tax. And at the time it didn’t seem like it was worth that price when all I really cared about was the screen.

But I also wish I had gotten Hot Pepper instead of Cactus Gray. Regrets… there have been a few.

It definitely would have been much cheaper to get it from the factory but my BD didnt give me the option. Im honestly content with what I have. $2500 could go to some much more pratical things imo.

I bought my badlands (low package) off the lot back in sept 21, so I got what I got and can't really complain when lots of people were waiting for custom orders for years (and likely some are still waiting?)
