My first time ever installing rock lights. I messed up the placement a bit as you can see from the huge tire shadows. Wish I moved them closer to the edge a bit. Live and learn. Overall I'm happy with them. Installing wasn't difficult. Just took a little time. And as you can see they are very bright and light the perimeter very well.

Thanks for the images. Never have had these on my trucks before. Thinking some version of these would be great for being out in my local damp woods at night and needing to change out a tire or inspect for new damage that I just stupidly inflicted.
Have seen on some other posts versions with many color options, which could be fun camping with less than sober friends?
Wondering if anyone else has an opinion on this forum?

Rock lights serve 3 purposes

1) To help you see those rocks on the trails at night
2) To help give you some light around the truck at night
3) As you said, to help you change your tire :)

If you do a lot of fishing at night on the beach with your truck, go with red lights. The red doesn't hurt your night vision like others do.

Otherwise I'm a fan of white myself, but the amber rock lights are very popular for some reason in the Toyota market. But for me, white is what I'll be doing.

Have a daytime pic of where they’re installed? Curious what they look like when not in use.

No I'm almost as far out as I can go. The tire just sticks out too far lol.

If they're really used for seeing rocks at night, wouldn't a better placement be where the light isn't blocked by the tire?

Crap, now these may be on my build list. Would be great for camping. Yellow is less obtrusive in camp grounds. Red may freak out my (small) kids lizard brain.
