I finally got around to installing my Diode Dynamics SS5 Pro's yesterday. I didn't want to have to remove my radio antenna, so I had to come up with a way to shift the mount outward and rearward. The Baja Designs A-pillar plates worked great and did just that (many thanks to @4x4TruckLEDs.com for helping me get the plates from the BD kit). I don't have the back lighting connected yet, but the SS5 Pro with the combo lens is exactly what I hoped it to be. It provides a very even broad field combined with good penetration forward. They are definitely crazy bright! I'm very pleased with the way everything turned out. I still need to get some night shots, but here's how the plate and factory mount work together.

Happy to help. Thanks for the business and they look good. We've got a few of the pillar mounting brackets from BD left in stock from kits and we have PLENTY of SS5 in stock from Diode Dynamics still!

How are you liking the SS5s? What made you pick the SS5 over the SS3? Iā€™ll be doing these next but worried the 5s will look too big.

No OP, but also running SS5s (Sports with a Combo Lens, Amber). With six "Flood" and three "focused" optics, I find they offer the perfect amount of wide and down range ditch lighting. Having also tried double SS3 Pros, a Driving Lens Forward facing and a Combo Lens ditch facing...

Id pick the SS5 Sports over the double SS3's If you were strictly looking for ditch fill from that location; Especially if you have other lights that are forward facing. Not to mention the square factor of the SS5 complements the windshield frame more so than the SS3's

Yea Iā€™m running dual SS3 Pros facing forward right now. Looking strictly for a ditch light. Yea those SS5s donā€™t look too big at all on yours! šŸ˜Ž

Boreal beat me to it. Upon first unboxing, I was also worried about the size. After installation, I have been nothing but pleased. The combo lens allowed me to put the light where I needed it without having to go with two separate lights.

If you're using them for ditch lights, what was the reason for getting the combo lens vs the Flood or Fog lens?
