Wow, they actually still use hog rings on interiors?
Some makes still use them. Most Fords nowadays have plastic clips embedded in the foam that the listings sewn onto the covers clip in to. That and velcro
Is there actually a difference between the seats on all the trims? They all look similar to me…so I’m wondering even tho katzkin has the seats available for big bend…can’t we use them in any trim?
The seats are the same, but there are minor differences between trims. Broncos with factory leather have a rear armrest, cloth ones do not. BD and BL trims have the plastic molle panel on the back of the front seats. The one pattern Katzkin has right now will fit any 4 door with factory cloth interiors, so Base, Big Bend, Outer Banks and Wildtraks

Since I wasn’t patient enough to wait, I ordered a Big Bend (which I could get) and then swapped out the cloth interior for Katzkin leather. Out the door was a very reasonable $1850, including same day installation and tax.

I have a January confirmation deposit and am

waiting on the order books to open on the 2022 models, at least I have something that won’t depreciate to drive until the one I really want gets here!
Calling them tomorrow! Thanks.

I have a couple quick questions, maybe someone can answer.
1. Does this replace the cloth? Or it's more like a seat cover?
2. Does it make the seats stiffer/harder? I had a BL for a week with leather interior and I didn't care for how stiff the leather seats felt. I guess it could be that with only 90 miles on it the seats weren't broken in. I've never had leather seats so don't know.
Thanks in advance.
1. Yes, they take the current seat off and replace it with the new leather
2. I have had it in 2 vehicles and it is as good or better then factory leather. It will break in a bit over time and get softer and less stiff. Give it some time. I've heard of people leather conditioning too but I have never done it or know the pros or cons. Like a new baseball mitt.

Looking good while being a simple design of black with pearl stitching (I'm assuming it's pearl).

They posted, on Facebook, an image of a Base or Big Bend more door with a Katzkin upgrade.

Before and after pics they posted.

One of the few aftermarket upgrades that don’t look like junk. I’d have to inspect it in person though. How are all of the seams against the seats, etc.? Does it really look as good as factory?
Co-worker did a super duty. It's a much richer softer feeling leather than factory. I was stunned as to how nice it is.

I was surprised just how small they are. I recall watching a video where it seemed like the upholsterer really had to get his back and knees into installing hog clips. It made me nervous to try digging into the seats on the Flex.

Maybe classic rings were bigger, but the rings Ford uses are easily cut with some sidecutters. For replacement most people say you can substitute quality nylon zipties.

Did you consider any other configurations? Like asking to modify stitching or go with different textured leather? I am planning on ordering Katzkins whenever the beast gets built. Whenever that is. Yours looks amazing btw. congrats.

Will it work with your heated seats?
Yes, that is why I want the Wildtrack, it is the only Bronco version you can get heated cloth seats. According to Katzkin they can recover seats with the heating units.
