I’ve taken that light off before when trying to add my own interior lights. I broke it trying to pry it out. The service manual has you take the top, speaker pods, and a bunch of panels to get to it. If it’s getting replaced probably don’t care if you break it, just be aware.
I managed to pop mine out without breaking it ( just bent one of the metal clips ), but it was a bit of a chore.

Nope. I knew what I was dealing with and still broke it. It’s a tight metal clip that you can’t get trim tools on to decompress. Here’s a pic of it.

I used trim tools and managed to get mine out. Bent one of the metal clips, but was able to bend it back into shape.

So this uses the plug that normally powers the back cargo light? But it sounds like it doesn't turn on like the original cargo light and you have to manually flip a switch?

And I too is ready to jump on it until I saw the price. $100 can buy alot of AAA batteries.

No, it functions identically to the existing light I think.

It turns on when you open the doors, just like the original light. (Uses the same connector).
It also has a button allowing you to manually turn it on.

I'm totally in for this product with a discount. Almost went with IAG's 4 lights but was worried they'd put off too much light. Also their install seems heavily involved. This dome piece swap is just what I was hoping for!
