Installed our tailgate table last night

One of the amazon Chinese specials. This one has a MOLLE grate so I picked it. They are listed under many names with various prices but I can assure you they're the same.

Pros-
It's a table
It's quiet
It's got MOLLE

I'll use it this weekend so will have a little better understanding, but I can't see any reason not to like it as a table and storage platform.

Cons-
Instructions and video are an absolute joke- Basically just guess which fasteners go where and run with it
Little stupid tab things you insert to mount to tailgate suck and I had to grind them, however, the "real" ones make you take the spare tire assembly out so I guess I'll shut up about the aluminum wingnut thingees
Latches look cheesy- I'm afraid they won't last long but we'll see
Typical crappy hardware that strips if you look at it funny

The little attached bag is our basic car survival bag we have in both cars. It has a glow stick, space blanket, knife, flashlight, matches, tiny fuel cube stove, fire starter, life straw, some packets of water, some of those sawdust survival wafers and some vacuum packed bullets. I need to go through and refresh everything, it's been a while.

I've got to get more MOLLE bags, those guys are all we have though I might have a couple of the small pouches in our camping gear. I need to get that stuff out and get it up to our house in the mountains as that's where we would base out of anyway.

Ya just don't have them too thick / deep or it will cut into usable space in the cargo area.

Is the material steel or aluminum. Does a magnet stick to it?

I’ll check with a magnet but by weight I’d say it’s steel.
Used it this weekend for lunch on the trail and it worked great.

it does rattle off-road but then so does a lot of stuff in the truck.

I did the same thing last weekend - the instructions that came with mine were very straightforward. I did create an installation video to help out others who plan to install one. Loving that it's a no-drill option and the molle panel on the underside of it as well. This replaces the Ford Accessories Molle Panel I had previously on my tailgate.

I insist on aluminum. No rust and it's lighter weight. The size is right but I'm not crazy about the rubber latches.

I need to update my table. The ford one was there when I bought my Bronco. It has the molle but also does not have a flat surface to use when folded down. Rattles like mad unless I keep a rag stuffed in the corners. Ford claims two year warranty but I can’t get them to cover it even tho it was dealer installed. It is handy to have and use tho.
