Overlander with sass? Rocklander? Idk what to call it… but we added the RUGGED Hard Shell RTT and I think it’s a perfect match for our style of Bronco’ing

they make a soft-shell that’s lighter and slimmer… but this one is the lightest hard shell. I probably would have been fine with a soft-shell… but in my head hard-shell was the only way to go,

thanks for watching!

Ohhhh dang!! When was that released??? Tell me it wasn’t available in February… I spent weeks narrowing down my Top 3 choices and hadn’t seen this one!!!

that’s a rad tent!
It was announced earlier this year, before March, I don't recall the exact date. I saw them at MOORE Expo '24 and they told me they allowed pre-orders originally for 1 month, but they got so many they stopped taking them after 3 weeks

They're in the process of delivering those pre-orders now and to my knowledge are on track to be done with those pre-orders this month

It's really sleek in person, way better than I was expecting. The guy who started IO actually came from the team that worked on the GFC SuperLite v1 - he wanted to make changes to it to improve it, but the v2 project kept getting pushed back (still unknown release date), so he left and started his own thing

I saw a post somewhere (I think on their FB page) with upcoming additional accessories for it, the one that I recall is a self-inflating mattress custom to the tent

This tent looks very good. Thanks for posting your review.

What brand and size ladder are you using? Looks like a perfect fit for this set-up..

Thanks!

TBH, it was just the ladder BAT sells with the tent. It’s a decent ladder, but I’d imagine there’s a few out there that are even more rigid… but probably exponentially more pricey!

my wife jokingly (at least I think she was joking) said I should add one of those rope rung ladders that they used on playgrounds when we were kids… just to mess with people at campsites 😂

That’s a hybrid no? Still fabric top?
Ah yep, I think you're right. I have the original Aspen and it's ~130lbs, shedding 30 pounds would definitely be nice

130 still isn’t that bad at least… one of the first ones I looked at was like 160ish!

To be fair, I have nothing against soft tops. I just figured I’d be more likely to tear it with the places i find myself driving into.

I have had the FSR Aspen Lite for over a year and run through the Ozarks and Ouachitas a lot with it. I am constantly scrapping through trees and such with it. It’s held up great. I think it’s the best low profile/ light weight RTT there is. I had a Go Fast Superlite before this Aspen Lite and there is no comparison. I couldn’t get rid of that Superlite fast enough. The FSR is way easier to pop up and down. The design is way better than the typical wedge tent. I can almost stand up in it at 6’ tall. Their mattress is great as well and awesome customer service. I’m never going back to a typical wedge shaped tent.
