am I the only one who doesn't think it's a good idea to install an electronic device so close to the fuel filler neck?

But hey, I truly hope the keypad works for you and doesn't leave you stranded out in some remote condition where you have to bust open a window to access the Bronco.
Hey, anyone can remove my soft top windows! Velcro, clip, zipper! No problem! 🤣🤣🤣

I like it on the driver’s door way better
But how do you get to it if the door is off?🤔

💡 ahh, the reason for the door bags. You’ll still have access to the door in the “trunk” and thus the keypad!

👆🏼Very Very Heavy sarcasm!👆🏼

Does anyone have the part number for the keypad? I have a spare one laying around that I was going to put on my F-350, but have decided against it. I'm hoping that it's the same part.

Just out of curiosity for anyone that has one of these...
1. How many digits are the codes?
2. If, for example (let's assume that it's a 4 digit code) a criminal came up to the car with nothing but time, could they theoretically sit there and type 10,000 different codes in until it works, or does it stop working after say 3 incorrect attempts?

Funny you should ask.

The devices just look for the correct string of digits… it doesn’t reset or timeout…

Thus there is actually a string of numbers, while long, not so long that someone couldn’t just spend 15 min punching it in to stumble on the code.

That is wild, thanks for the reply and interesting article. I’d assume that any thief worth their salt would probably just break open the side window in 4 seconds rather than spend that much time typing.

It does, the keypad thing is just for when you either want to leave the keys locked in the car or don’t have them for some reason.

Excellent idea; I also believe "push-button" vs "spinning wheel" combination numbers would be more secure. Any ideas on what brand - was looking at this one:

Just hang it off the back bumper/hitch like those "truck nuts"

After a full week of driving around I'm satisfied with the placement and performance of the keyless entry keypad on my son's Big Bend. No issues with fit and opening/closing of the fuel door. Keypad works every time.
