Installing stereo amp on tailgate?

Has anyone considered installing their stereo amp(s) on the rear tailgate? Seems like a great place if you want access.

If you like that spot, go for it. I would have concerns about the power wire stability with the tailgate opening and closing repeatedly. If the power wire pulls loose or the outer covering becomes damaged, you will have a live 12V cable exposed. Or if the same things happens to the ground wire, you will have an ungrounded amp.

Good point. I was thinking of zip tying it to the wiring that already runs to the brake light. Seems like there’s enough slack there that the wires shouldn’t pull out of the amp.
