I bought a set of take off rock rails but need to sort out the installation. I know it’s not complicated, but those damned things are too heavy to muck with alone. Does anyone know of a video or diagram for the install of the OEM rock rails?

I just took my Badlands rails off yesterday. Need 10mm and 13mm sockets. I’d say install goes like this:
  1. Install brackets, 2 each side (middle and rear) - hand tighten bolts.
  2. Next the rail, if doing this by yourself (and totally possible) you can use something like 2 plastic storage bins to position the rail under the Bronco. Install the rail bolts, 3 I think, install front bolt, middle, then rear - hand tighten bolts.
  3. Insert pinch weld bolts - hand tighten.
  4. Tighten/torque all bolts making sure the rail is level.

Nice. Thanks!

Not too hard. Just took mine off. They kinda hang there with the studs that go through the seam. Don’t need to hold in place while loosening or tightening hardware.

Black Diamond factory rails are pretty easy to work with.
A 5 gallon bucket or 2 holds it up at a good level. Laying on your back using a knee up at one end helps to lift the rails into the mount holes.

I'm an old greybeard and while it is not "easypeasy" it is not necessarily a 2 person job.
