Insurance cost for 6 months

The real test is when you actually need the insurance. I've heard horror stories, but everyone I have talked to at Geico has been professional and they paid for the one accident I had.

FWIW, I have a 2022 non-SAS OBX in NorCal and I pay $515.86 for 6 mos. I have a 2020 BMW 230 convertible (that actually cost pretty close to the same as the OBX, although repair costs for the BMW would be +++$) and the premium for that is $951.80/6mos. Crazy!

I own a bronco wildtrak. Got It August 1st 2022. I am about to renew my insurance with Geico. I live in Miami . Never had an incident. 29 years old. Never have received a ticket or pulled over. Bronco has about 1,900 miles . They are charging me $889 for 6 months. Last year they charged me $880. I am curious. What are y'all paying ?

Am I paying too much ? Too little ? Just right?

my 2021 soft top badlands with Geico purchased Jan 2022-March 2022(sold) was $1234 for 6 months in DC. I guess Geico found out how hard it is to get parts or the cost of Bronco parts because my fully loaded 2023 Wildtrak was priced at $1600-$1800 for 6 months with Geico, after shopping around Progressive is what I went with for $940 full coverage and $50 deductible for all Glass/windshield coverage for 6 months.

My premium for 6 months is about $320 for Bronco with 300/200/100 policy limits.
I receive $140 in discounts, including the largest portion of the discount -- $80 for drivewise performance rating.

I figured I should get credit for safe driving including:
Time periods exceeding 80 MPH -- 0.
Infrequent extreme braking incidents -- averaging about 2/ mo
Time of day for mileage -- early and midday hours, mostly.

I still get this ~ 20% discount despite racking up 15,000 mi. in 11 months.

I'm not always a fan of the module. I think the rules that Allstate applies are unclear and ambiguous -- my wife has a poor rating despite reporting better performing numbers (this is being questioned currently), she still gets the minimum $20 discount. Other discounts are: anti-theft, passive restraint, antilock brakes, daytime running lights, new car, and electronic stability control, but they don't add up to as much as the drivewise.

Oh and not for nothing you're being tracked by all the apps in your phone anyway, so you might as well get paid for it.

If we were both getting only $20 discounts, I doubt I'd keep it. I forgot the stupid thing when I bought the bronco (it connects to your obd-2 connection under dash) and almost had to pay more money to get a new device. Fortunately, the dealership was able to locate the vehicle and device.

An independent broker is the best way. They do get a commission but the insurance company pays themselves that commission if you buy direct anyway. They don’t discount it off.

A good one will shop your account every year.

$42 a month for a loaded Badlands with Sasquatch, V6 and High. My 2016 Fusion daily driver is actually $5 a month more lol. I have no idea how Sate Farm got these figures but I won't argue it. I have 3 vehicles with full coverage and 1 with liability which is a shit box Isuzu Rodeo with 230k miles on it.
