I get asked this all the time. LolDo volunteer or are you a musher? That is a remarkable race, I have met a few of the mushers, some good guys.
Alaska is a great place I can’t imagine living anywhere else
I grew up in Lansing, lived in Eastherville, Mason City, Sheffield, and for the last 30 years New Albin. Right on the Mississippi river, and the Minnesota border. Probably will have the longest drive of anyone in the state of Iowa to pick up my Bronco @ Granger.Pretty part of the state. I spent a lot of time fishing with my dad in that area. McGregor, Marquette, harpers Ferry and Lansing. Fond memories.
And then cross the river and get higher alcohol beer at Starks in Prarie DC
We will need to meet up to exchange bronco intel some day....@BroncoJay I am a Sioux Cityan as well. Grew up on a farm outside of Soldier and moved her for college... never left. Ordered a Grangetober Deal and am patiently awaiting whatever MY I end up with!
We may have to! My wife isn’t as much of a back and forth kind of talker on the Bronco! We will need to meet up to exchange bronco intel some day....
Lol Got ya, I seen guys running this, I was out at my buddies cabin ptarmigan hunting near the south fork/Ptarmigan Valley. I also seen guys way out there on fat tire bikes. Your a pretty tough guy running this race! I’m sure most people have absolutely no concept of what your doing! That is some beautiful but dangerous country out there. I spent a week out there a few days after the start of the dog race and it warmed up to 5 above one day... a bit chilly.I get asked this all the time. Lol
Two weeks before the dog sled race starts there is a race called the Iditarod trail invitational- basically I’m my own dog, it’s a foot race across Alaska that follows the same dog sled race to Nome, 1000 miles on foot pulling my own sled.... Hence why I’m there for so long...
I’d retire to Alaska if my wife would allow it...
Welcome to the Bronco community - any big plans for the new Bronco?Just got my 2 door about a month ago. Have been in Ames since 2013.
Have fixed the crappy sound system. Added rear seat and floor covers, grab handles, a console organizer and added fog lights. No plans on anymore changes.Welcome to the Bronco community - any big plans for the new Bronco?
